The sound studios at SIT’s West Regent Street campus have been the subject of a case study by high-end loudspeaker manufacturer Genelec. SIT staff members Ronan Breslin and Simon Weins explain how Genelec speakers played a crucial role in the design and implementation of the new Dolby Atmos and 3D Ambisonic sound studios, and how the installation has benefited the student cohort. Join us this Friday for the School of Innovation and Technology Postgraduate Degree Show Symposium 2026 at the GSA Haldane Building.

Across the day, postgraduate students will share selected Master’s projects through four curated themes, alongside two keynote talks opening and closing the symposium.

We’ll be joined by Alexander McRoberts, Senior Visualiser at @_floatdigital who will reflect on his professional progression and share practical examples of architectural visualisation workflows, and Kirsty Sinclair, Lead Service Designer at the Scottish Government, whose work spans digital services, reusable service patterns, rapid prototyping and multidisciplinary collaboration.

There are still some tickets available, so come along, hear the work, explore the Degree Show exhibition and join the conversation.

🎉 Congratulations to Dr Julia Römer, who graduated from The Glasgow School of Art today! 🎓

Julia completed her PhD within the School of Innovation and Technology, where her research explored sustainability education through creative, participatory and design-led approaches.
