Bringing the West Coast inside

Cox Bay Lookout is heading all the way to Singapore 🤍

Inspired by a small part of Vancouver Island’s wild coastline, Cox Bay Lookout holds a little bit of that west coast feeling I love so much.

It’s officially the furthest one of my paintings has ever travelled, which feels pretty surreal. Such an honour to know it’s going to a collector on the other side of the world.

So excited for this little piece and its journey. 🌿✨ taken in Cox Bay, Tofino, BC by @sitkasandseas

Some places stay with you long after you’ve driven through them. 🌲

Cathedral Grove is one of those places for me.

I created this piece a while ago, but after hearing that Cathedral Grove was crowned CBC’s 2026 Best Roadside Attraction in B.C., I wanted to bring it back for a little showcase.

I’ve driven this road more times than I can count, and there’s still something about rounding that bend and suddenly being surrounded by those enormous old-growth trees. You can’t help but feel small beneath them.

For this piece, I wanted to capture that feeling of being in the car, winding through the grove and watching these giants tower over the road.

It’s entirely hand-drawn in my fine-line pointillism style, with thousands of tiny ink dots, each deliberately placed to build the trees, shadows, light and depth of the forest.

If one day this original piece ever sells, I know that it will be going to a collector that loves and appreciates BC’s Old Growth trees just like I do 💚 taken in Cathedral Grove Forest, Vancouver Island by @sitkasandseas

I’m so happy to share that this little piece of Grouse Mountain will be available exclusively at The Spirit Gallery Gift Shop. 🤍

I created this sticker as a little love letter to the mountain, with its peaks, forest, gondola, and Grinder the Grizzly making his way through the trees.

Grinder was something I envisioned in this art piece from the beginning and sadly, he unfortunately passed earlier this summer after I finished this piece. He was given an extraordinary life living on Grouse Mountain alongside his grizzly buddy, Coola, and I feel honoured to have a small way of remembering him through this piece.

Whether it’s your first visit or you’re a local who never gets tired of being there, I hope this little sticker brings back a feeling of the mountain.

A constant study of light, shadows, tones and hues. Discovering new pallets to try, and a way to go back in time to revisit the scenes that made me stop in my tracks as an artist.

I never want to limit myself on what I create, my mind is constantly exploring and studying the ways colours play in my own life. My camera roll is at its own limit, I take these pictures to admire the places I’ve been and the way the earth shows me everyday just how truly beautiful of an artist it is. by @sitkasandseas

My lesson on the bittersweet’s.

Letting this piece go, for me, is the true definition of bittersweet.

A feeling of both heavy and right.

Heavy because of all the hours folded into it.

The brushstrokes that no one else saw.
The slow movements of the layers being added.
The ways I could see my skills improving throughout the years being evident on the paper.

And right because it’s find it’s finding a home.

A place where it will live loved.
A home where the people in it, resonate with my work.
And a piece of me growing deeper into the corners of this world.

I find myself thinking of the places my art has traveled, and I stayed here. Wondering how many people my work has touched.

And honestly, that’s why I create. Not to keep everything close, but to let pieces travel.

To find new eyes, new lives, and new appreciation.

So yeah, bittersweet but beautifully so. by @sitkasandseas
