We’re honored to announce that Delaware Sensory Museum has been awarded a research grant from Delaware State University to advance a community-engaged research partnership that will help shape the future of Delaware’s first sensory museum.

This partnership brings together Delaware State University, Delaware Sensory Museum, and SIVAD Group LLC @sivadgroupllc to better understand how sensory-informed environments can improve health, well-being, learning, and inclusion for neurodivergent individuals and their families.

At the heart of this work is a simple belief: the people most impacted by research should help lead it.

Through a community-led needs assessment, we’ll work alongside neurodivergent individuals, caregivers, educators, behavioral health professionals, and disability advocates to identify unmet needs, elevate lived experiences, and help guide the future of inclusive sensory health environments across Delaware.

The research will also explore how innovative technologies—including AI-enabled environmental sensing and air quality solutions—can contribute to creating safer, more responsive spaces designed with sensory needs in mind.

This grant is more than funding. It’s an investment in community voice, evidence-based innovation, and a future where inclusive spaces are informed by both research and lived experience.

Today, Delaware Sensory Museum Inc., alongside our Air Quality & Innovation Technology Partner, @sivadgroupllc , met with the CEO and senior leadership of SUPRA Office Solutions, Inc. and toured their 70,000-square-foot facility and adaptive sensory furniture showroom.

As we continue paving the pathway forward for Delaware’s first sensory-informed learning and community hub, every step is intentional.
