POSTS STORIES REELS
Thursday 1st October. Wake up, dead. 6 am. Walk the dog. I’ll take my camera, but I won’t see anything. I’ve photographed everything, and it doesn’t make a difference, who cares, what’s the point. Walk, feeling dead. Stand still waiting for slow dog. Lift my head. See something, but disregard it. Go to walk on, but the light that I saw blurs in my periphery as I turn my head, like Turners brush stroke, but still I try to disregard, but now my heart pulls at me, not my head. So I respond, out of obligation to my hearts call, head chatter tries to stop me, telling me it’s a pointless, a waste of time. Then I look, and I see my friends, the tiny pools of water delicately balanced on the feathers and leaves like gems, they glisten and seem to call me to be part of their world, I get curious, I try through my camera to join them, I’m on the floor at 6.15 am in the morning completely lost in what I’m seeing, I can’t believe how beautiful they look. by @siwaldron
THE morbidity OF MY OBITUARY. by @siwaldron
Grace & Edwyn. Helmsdale. 2026. About 12 years ago, I first saw @llahsemaj & @ec_lovelace feature doc ‘The Possibilities are Endless’ (@edwynfilm ) telling the story of Edwyn Collins & Grace Maxwell in the aftermath of Edwyn’s near-fatal brain haemorrhage. At the time, and still to this day, it remains the closest rendering of what I feel the documentary form can achieve at its best: not the accountant’s truth, as Werner would put it, but the ecstatic. Where reality collides & melds with our own inner personal constructions. So, imagine my delight when, courtesy of @dangray101 & @knatsncl , I was invited to Helmsdale on the North-east Scottish coast to document @clashnarrowstudios , the creative sanctuary and home of Grace and Edwyn built to help continue their creative lives and offer a haven for other artists. Meeting contributors from a most beloved film could have been treacherous, but instead it was an absolute joy, only adding valuable layers to my appreciation of why this film resonated for me and so many others, so deeply. In a world that I feel is rapidly being consumed by the machine, Grace and Edwyn’s lives provided me with a road map and vision for an alternate path, a form of resistance. I think it begins with love, the kind of love that endures sacrifice, that overcomes impossible hardships and still finds joy, jokes and a laugh, that still fights and holds onto independence through creativity, never losing the spark to create, never obeying a world that would have us stop and say it’s a waste of time. Thank you Grace, Edwyn & Will (@willmaxwelllll ) for your hospitality, for the opportunity to be reminded of what I must continue to fight for and a vision for how to pursue that in my own life and family. All photography by me, except The Possibilities Are Endless film poster and still from the film - Which if you haven’t already you must go and now see. by @siwaldron

Keep your faith, a path marked in silver is laid out ahead. by @siwaldron
No one tells you. You launch into a relationship, then become a father without any sense of what lies in front of you. For me it continues to be an overwhelmingly impossible task to be what a loving father and husband requires. A constant reckoning with my shortcomings, inadequacies - bumping into the parts of myself I dislike, falling short of the ideals that exist in my heart but get buried and overtaken by distractions, petulances, an inability to quel the storm of my own making. In a moment of fancy, I asked kamilla to film me with Vincent, I didn’t know why exactly but later the next day I discovered this clip as if I was a stranger to it, and it nearly brought me to tears. To see myself, through someone else’s eyes just for a moment gave me privileged access to new quadrant of heart space I barely frequent. To see myself as just a father playing and being with his son in the waters of the Mediterranean opened up a gush of compassion for this man, momentarily cleansed of the internal chatter of disquietening voices, of unceasing noise. In this moment I was enough, this moment did indeeed exist among the many others and we were happy, we were enough for each other and that spurs me on. by @siwaldron
Bella, the hottest dog in the world- lay on the cool concrete floor under our table in the dark inners of @dinnerforonehundred like a Caravaggio. We too escaped the sun and parenting for a delightful moment, gorging on pizza, goats salad, affogato and tiramisu. by @siwaldron
