We are proud to partner with Zagame Property on plans for Cremorne’s first purpose-built Build to Rent development. Together, we are creating a high-quality project designed for long-term living.

Our proposed Cremorne Build to Rent development will deliver 263 new apartments. It will provide more choice for people seeking secure, professionally managed rental housing in inner Melbourne.

Six Degrees Architects has designed the 16-storey project. It will offer studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom apartments. The design responds to Cremorne’s character and supports a strong sense of community.

PDG is proud to continue bringing property to life through city-shaping projects across Melbourne. Explore new PDG developments and upcoming projects - link in bio.

The next stage of our ongoing collaboration with Hotel Sorrento is now open!

The redesign of the Hotel Dining Rooms follows the completion of Pool, Accommodation, Wellness, Lobby and Rooftop Stages.

We have thoroughly enjoyed the process of reinstating Hotel Sorrento to its rightful position as the Premier Hotel on the Mornington Peninsula.

Thanks to the Pitt family and Moonah Construction.

Built around a central open-air courtyard, the multi-residential project pairs robust concrete and brickwork with cross-ventilated, light-filled apartments designed to bring neighbours together.

Three Six Degrees projects have been featured in Part 2 of the Victorian Government’s State Design Book: Nightingale 2.0, Heller St, & Clyde St.

Last year, the Government called for nominations of buildings that have left their mark on Victorians, to be included as part of the handbook for achieving great housing design. We are pleased to see these homes have had a lasting impression not just on the residents, but the wider community.

These projects are some of our favourites because they capture how we design for people and place and how we seek to contribute to the neighbourhoods in which we build.

Thank you to all those that nominated us and to the OVGA panellists for the selection. The State Design Book is available to read online.

It was inspiring to see the public interest in Density Done Well, the exhibition hosted by the Victorian Chapter of the Australian Institute of Architects over the weekend for Open House Melbourne.

Installed against the grand heritage backdrop of the Hawthorn Arts Centre, Density Done Well was curated by the Chapter’s Housing Committee - co-chaired by Six Degrees’ James Legge and Hayball’s Sarah Buckeridge - and asks an important question: Would you choose to live here?

Thank you to Cr Lisa Hollingsworth and Deputy Mayor Cr Shima Ibuki for opening the exhibition and sparking conversations about city-making and the role of architects in delivering density well at a local level.

Showcasing 36 exemplary housing projects by architects from across Melbourne, the exhibition tackles the housing challenges facing Victoria head-on and explores how well-designed density can provide both private amenity for residents and public amenity for communities. Visitors also had the opportunity to speak with members of the Housing Committee and several of the featured architects.

Happy moving day to the residents of Nightingale Wilam Ganga, and congratulations on your new homes!

Ahead of move-ins, we loved celebrating the completion of the project with our community, collaborators and peers. It was a chance to come together, hear from the people who helped bring Nightingale Wilam Ganga to life, share stories and insights, and take a tour through the finished project.

The Nightingale team was joined by project architects Six Degrees, builders 2Moro Group, our incredible partners and supporters, and friends from across the industry.

Meaning "homes end" in Woi Wurrung language, Nightingale Wilam Ganga is a unique apartment project in Brunswick, right next door to our very first project in the heart of Brunswick. Designed by Six Degrees, the building brings 28 new homes and three commercial spaces to the street, completing the final piece of the Florence Street puzzle.

A big thank you to everyone who joined us, and welcome home to all of our new residents.

The latest edition of Architect Victoria magazine has just been released, featuring our very own Merri Northcote on the cover.

Six Degrees founding director James Legge co-edited the first half of the edition - titled ‘Density Done Well’ - along with Sarah Buckeridge from @hayball_arch . Housing in Australia is a complex and multivalent problem; this edition unpacks the economic and policy landscape around housing, and contextualises the role architects play in delivering great outcomes amongst urban economics, taxation policy, planning, and urban design frameworks.

Building upon the success of the @architecture_vic exhibition of the same name held at State Parliament earlier this year, the edition includes several exemplar projects from the exhibition alongside essay contributions from:
- Dr. Marcus Spiller (SGS Economics)
- Prof. Miranda Stewart (University of Melbourne)
- Leanne Hodyl (@hodyl_ )
- Andy Fergus (@andy_fergus )

Six Degrees recently celebrated the winter solstice with the return of our ‘Red Dinner’.

The winter solstice marks a turning point within the solar year, when we have moved past the longest night and where the light begins to return to us.

The office was transformed by the team into a neon-red & candlelit winter feast, kicked off with a ceremonial burning of hand-written sentiments and things we want to leave behind ‘in the darkness’.

It is a reminder that life moves in cycles and not in straight lines. In a world that encourages us to keep striving forward, the solstice allows us to slow down and ground ourselves intentionally in this point of transition.

We’re excited for what the rest of 2026 has in store for us. by @sixdegreesarchitects
