We are also always being asked at events how each farm is progressing and now we are delighted that you can watch a brief update from each one. 🙏 Please share far and wide, especially those who have hosted a screening of our Six Inches of Soil as we hope your communities will 🤎 them! 👀 This week @groundswell_agriculture we are delighted that both Adrienne and @thospearson (where Sweetpea is based and featured in Six Inches of Soil) are on a panel at 2pm on Wednesday 1st July at the Teapot: “Landmatching in Practice”. Jennifer, who teaches the *certificate of Sustainability @eastnorfolk , showed Six Inches of Soil to her students. She gave the film a big 👍 and said it made her feel empowered to do more. She also said that seeing young farmers working hard to produce food whilst nurturing soil and nature helps to inspire those she is teaching. *This certificate is a small Level 3 qualification that builds applied knowledge and skills in sustainability. This qualification is the same size as an AS Level qualification so it is a one year course. It focuses on the basics of sustainability covering climate education, sustainable practices, linear vs circular economies and greenwashing. It is an opportunity to study real-world organisations and making solid suggestions for a greener future. 🎥 To screen the film at your school or college head to our screening 🔗 in the bio or for shorter films head to our website (also you’ll find FREE resrouces there) or YouTube page. 🌾 AGRICULTURE UNLOCKED 😊 We are thrilled as we are being asked more and more to go into schools and colleges. There seems to be more of an appetite to discuss soil, farming and the state of the food system. 🚜 In Yarmouth @eastnorfolk Sixth Form College we went to a day dedicated to farming - Agriculture unlocked @ffdt_uk . We were there with two inspiring Climate Ambassadors - Lil Newton campaigner for nature-based learning and permaculture and @tessdraperuk teacher and East coordinator @ministryeco . 🪱 In the morning we had a table of soil with lots of the @britishsocietyofsoilscience resources - students between the age of 13-16 were keen to chat about, touch and smell soil. Exploring through various activities what it is, what’s in it, problems and solutions to create healthy soil. It was the most interest we have had at such an event. The students and teachers from various local schools wanted to chat how to grow veg, compost and loved delving into the world below our feet 🪱 🐜. 🦌 Lunch was a highlight, a 😋 venison bolognaise, the best school food we have ever eaten! Locally sourced, apparently thanks to contacts from @norfolkfwag 💚 The afternoon we spent with the students studying Sustainability, a course alongside their A Levels. This college has a principal who has embedded sustainability across all aspects of the college’s life and she introduced this course. The day before we went the class had watched Six Inches of Soil film. Lil, Tess and @clai.remackenzie had a chat to the students and their teacher. They discussed what they felt and the take aways from the film - we were very 😃 as they told us: “We help the soil the soil helps us” “Anyone can make a change” “Soil is foundation of life” 🙋‍♀️ Emotions, how film made them feel?: -A lot of gratitude for the people farming in the film but also guilt for not doing enough. -Hope and empowerment, especially seeing new entrants 🥕 Lastly Social sustainability: What action to take in their communities ? - growing veg - composting - solar panels - bee hives - more green spaces - share Six Inches of Soil by @sixinchesofsoil

Absolutely chuffed to have won Carbon Farmer of the Year 2026. To be nominated and win a National award like this, competing against other great farmers across the country gives us hope and confidence in what we’re doing, and the motivation to push on and do more. Since being at Treveddoe, we have benefitted from so much wisdom from many, but a special mention to Hannah, Stefan, Anthony and Rob from @farmcarbontoolkit who have supported us so much on our journey to date. This recognition means a lot. Thanks to @farmcarbontoolkit for enabling it and to @farmEd for hosting - a great place doing great things. Exciting times ahead, let’s get to work. by @sixinchesofsoil
Who is this woman? A beaming light…holding a flame for the challenge to help people care about soil. The way we have been led to treat soil and biology with such excruciatingly degrading and deathly measures is bonkers but it’s got to stop here and now. We need to feed and nourish ourselves well to be well, to prevent disease, and we need to feed and nourish the soil…she’s calling out for help. I always say, nature is yearning for connection with us as much we yearn for connection and belonging in the world. Claire here is talking about SHAPE the Soil Action Health Plan and taking soil education to schools with compassion. Amen sister. Love your energy @clai.remackenzie @sixinchesofsoil To learn and share what needs sharing please follow Claire and watch her film Six Inches of Soil.
