Some of the stunning looks from RUNWAY OF REZILIENCE 2026 @weareseeingred 🪶❤️

My jaw was on the floor as I was snapping these photos. Indigenous excellence was centre stage at this celebration of beauty and art.

From the hair & MUAs, to the designers and production team, to the creatives in the crowd who showed up and showed out — the collective really demonstrated where our talent and vision can go when it’s given space to flourish instead of being suppressed.

I am so grateful to witness these community-based events that impact all generations, as we follow the Creator in the love of creation.

On this National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, why do we wear orange shirts? 🧡

The movement stems from the story of Phyllis Webstad, who wore a brand-new orange shirt given to her by her grandmother on her first day at St. Joseph Mission residential school in 1973. When she arrived, the shirt was taken from her — an experience that came to symbolize how the residential school system sought to strip Indigenous children of their culture, identity and sense of self-worth.

Today, we remember the children who never returned home, honour Survivors and their families, recognize the intergenerational trauma that continues today, and consider our responsibility in reconciliation.

What are some ways you can take part in reconciliation as a non-Indigenous person? ⬇️

Listen to Indigenous storytellers. Learn about the history. Support Indigenous artists and organizations. Join Indigenous-led community gatherings. And celebrate the resilience, creativity and cultures that continue to thrive today.

Shirt artwork created by Indigenous artist @lukeswinsonart 🧡
