We’re honored to share that PYB received the Public Impact Leadership Award at Preservation Pennsylvania’s 2026 Historic Preservation Awards. 🏆

This recognition celebrates the vision and collective effort behind the Alan Horwitz “Sixth Man” Center, a place where basketball opens the door to learning, mentorship, wellness, connection, and opportunity.

We’re deeply grateful to every PYB colleague and Board member, past and present, and to the many design and construction partners whose leadership, expertise, and commitment helped bring the Center from an idea to a reality!

Thank you to Preservation Pennsylvania for this meaningful recognition.

Year 8. We’re back, Philly. 🏀🧡

Thank you to everyone who has grown with us over the years. This community built this. Access and representation matter, and when our girls see women who look like them leading and competing at the highest level, they believe they belong. Eight years in, we’re just getting started, and we’re committed to doing even more for the girls in our city.

📅 Sunday, Oct 25th
📍 Sixth Man Center, Philadelphia
⏰ 9AM–1PM (registration 8:15AM)
👧🏾 All girls, ages 7–18

Proud coach moment 💛🖤

My Dēz Kids team showed OUT at Philly After School HYPE on Sept 26 at the Alan Horowitz Sixth Man Center. We talked to the community about who we are and got the youth hands on with real tools and framing demos.

Grateful for the collaboration with WHO DAT?! ODAAT YFM 🧡 💙
Special thanks to Councilmember Dr. Anthony A. Phillips, District 9, and Senior Advisor Cykhira Walton for standing behind this work. We appreciate you ❤️

Meet The Generator of Career Development & Economic Opportunity—a planned 40,000-square-foot facility that will complete PYB’s campus in Nicetown and create dedicated space for career development, workforce training, entrepreneurship, and economic opportunity.

Inside, young adults will be able to explore career pathways, gain hands-on experience, build industry relationships, and access the support and connections that help turn opportunity into what comes next.

The rotator cuff is a group of four muscles and tendons that help stabilize and move your shoulder. Whether you're lifting groceries, reaching into a cabinet, playing pickleball or working in the yard, the rotator cuff is constantly at work. Maintaining good posture, staying active, and improving shoulder and upper back strength can help reduce stress on the shoulder.

If shoulder pain is limiting your activities, keeping you from sleeping comfortably or not improving after a few weeks, schedule a physical therapy evaluation: https://bit.ly/46FJsF6 by @sixthmancenter
