I wrote this piece in 2010, at 19 years old. Life had shifted. I was fairly new to college and to myself honestly. I received attention I wasn’t use to. Attention that completely went against how I grew up feeling. People viewed me as confident and put together. Now, a full decade later, I find myself at the precipice of another turning point in my life. From this day forward things will look different, sound different, and BE different. How can you go through a time like this one of COVID-19 and not come out different? I can’t. I won’t. Loving the skin I’m in is my business.
