It’s day like this I begin to question God. Why Him? Why now? Why did you take him away from us? But I know that he is in a better place, where he is no longer in pain. You were the definition of slow to anger, and had the biggest sense of humor. Most people don’t get to meet their great grandparents. I got 19 years with mine. Every year I’ve been blessed enough to customize a glove. Most people chooses verses for the year or word, I do the same but for each season. I didn’t know it at the time but looking back I saw each verse play out in my own life.

My freshman year, Esther 4:14. I didn’t know I would be asked to redshirt but God had a role for me to fulfill at this time.

My sophomore year Isaiah 41:10. This was one of the most challenging years in my faith. But I learned how to trust God when I’m in the deep waters.

My junior year Colossians 3:23. The year had so many physically and mentally demanding moments. But when I grew weak I was reminded that I was working for him and playing for him alone not the people here on earth.

My senior year Micah 7:7. The year brought lots of waiting and questioning. But I was reminded to wait on God of my salvation. Even when I couldn’t always feel it , he would hear my prayers.

In July I was reading through the Psalms and this verse kept coming to my mind.
Psalm 16:8- I have set the Lord always before me; because he is at my right hand, I shall not be shaken.

All this to say, God’s work has been evident in every season that I’ve been through. I may not have known it in the moment but each of these verses played out in my life. This life is so difficult but we serve a loving God whose perfect hand is in every part of it. I don’t know why this verse kept coming to my mind but I serve a God who does. And he doesn’t promise that everything is going to be sunshine and rainbows but he promises to be with us through it all. by @sjg_85
