250 years ago today, America's founding fathers voted to issue their Declaration of Independence, which would be officially adopted two days later, on the Fourth of July. To celebrate this milestone, The Exchange will be publishing a special issue, featuring articles from professors, students, alumni, and guests from other universities this Saturday. It will be our longest issue to date, featuring wide range of topics listed above. We thank those who have contributed their time, thoughts, and words to this special issue, look forward to making it available for your viewing, and hope you all will enjoy. by @sjpsu

The second year of the St. John's Political Student Union (2025-26) has officially come to a close.

Celebrating with a party on Monday afternoon, the SJPSU acknowledged the successes of this past year - which included official recognition through the Communications department, an international debate with students from Ireland, advancement in the National Ethics Case Competition, and a visit from a Vietnam veteran (among other events) - and looked forward to the future: welcoming the 2026-27 E-board into the ranks.

The SJPSU also said "farwell" to its graduating members, among them the six founders of the SJPSU who, for the first time in the club's history, would pass responsibility for the organization, its operations, and its newspaper to a new generation. They were presented with certificates and graduation cords - the latter of which they will wear with pride when they walk across the stage later this month.

The SJPSU would like to extend its sincere graditude to everyone - students, faculty, alumni, friends and family - who has contributed, in some way, to the organization this year. Thank you for everything you do, and thank you for your continued support.

The St. John's Political Student Union will reconvene this September. Until then, have a safe and happy summer! 🌞

We're ending another wonderful academic year - but not without a final goodbye!

Join the St. John's Political Student Union and the St. John's Irish Society for a party this Monday, May 4th, at 1:50pm in Sullivan Hall B-14, where we'll celebrate the 2025-26 school year, our graduating seniors, and our incoming Executive Boards.

Food will be served, graduation cords will be distributed, speeches will be made, and a good time will be had by all (we hope.)

We can't wait to see you there!
