Never stop learning! Hairstroke Masterclass with @alarabrowdesign 🫶🏽

It was such a pleasure to welcome my lovely friend Lara to The SJ Training Academy to host her incredible Hairstroke Masterclass!

As much as I love teaching, I absolutely love being a student again. There is always something new to learn, and I took so much away from this class, particularly Lara’s incredible pre mapping technique! It’s so simple yet SO effective!

I’ll admit, the drawing was definitely the part I found most challenging! 😂 But that’s exactly why I love continuing my education. It pushes me outside my comfort zone, challenges the way I work and reminds me that there is always room to grow.

Feeling very lucky to have such talented friends in this industry who inspire me to keep learning and improving my craft. AND it was so fun to take the training with my SJLips student @beckyjigginspermanentmakeup ☺️

Your own shade of blush. 🫦

Farvevalget er en af mine yndlingsdele af en lip Blush-behandling. Den samme nuance gør noget forskelligt på hvert par læber, og derfor starter jeg altid med at se på den farve, der allerede er der.

Her har jeg blandet beige, rosa og jordnær varme med ønsket om et blødt nude-udtryk, som stadig har liv. Og arbejdet med at fremhæve hendes læbekant, særligt på overlæben, hvor formen før stod mindre tydeligt.

Jeg elsker den kombination. Blød farve, omhyggelig definition og hendes egen form i fokus 🤍

Direkte efter Lip Blush. Farven vil falde mere til ro under helingen, så det her er første kig, ikke det endelige resultat.

What an amazing two days training with the incredible Lara at the SJ Clinic 🤍

This shade on her 😮‍💨❤️‍🔥

Vi prøvede flere forskellige nuancer, før vi landede på en dybere rosa med et blødt berry-præg.

Den giver læberne mere farve og definition, men uden at resultatet bliver hårdt eller tungt. Bare en mere tydelig version af hendes egen læbefarve.

Jeg har arbejdet med den naturlige form og skabt en mere ensartet farve, så hun får mere liv og stadig føles som hende.

Farven er mere intens lige efter behandlingen og vil falde mere til ro under helingen.

I’m bringing my Realistic Hairstrokes Masterclass to SJ Brows 🤍

From the 6th–8th October, I’ll be teaching an exclusive 3-day masterclass at SJ Brows, taking everything I teach around realistic hairstrokes, brow composition, retention and the science behind our treatments and putting it into one intensive training experience.

And you don’t need to already offer hairstrokes to attend.

If you’re confident using a PMU machine and want to learn hairstrokes from the beginning, this is for you too.

One of the biggest problems I see with hairstrokes is that artists don’t have a method to follow.

Where does the next stroke go?
Which direction should it travel?
How do you create flow without the brow becoming too busy?
Why do some strokes heal beautifully while others disappear?

Without a system, it becomes guesswork.

And that’s exactly what I want to remove.

I teach you my method and rhythm for building a brow, so instead of trying to memorise endless patterns, you understand how to construct one.

What will you actually learn at The Science Behind Cosmetic Tattooing? 🧬🔬

This course isn’t about teaching you another technique.

It’s about helping you understand what is actually happening inside the skin when you tattoo it.

Because once you understand the WHY, so many of the things we’ve been taught in PMU start to make a lot more sense.

We’ll dive into:

🧬 Skin anatomy and where we are actually implanting pigment
🩸 Wound healing and what happens from the moment the needle enters the skin
🔬 Pigment behaviour and what happens to pigment once it’s implanted
🦠 Macrophages and fibroblasts and how tattoo pigment is retained within the dermis
💧 TEWL and the skin barrier and what this means for healing and aftercare
🎨 Colour theory AND colour perception, because the colour inside the bottle is not necessarily the colour our eyes perceive through skin
💙 The Tyndall effect and why pigment can appear cooler, greyer or bluer beneath the skin
☀️ Pigment degradation and why tattoos change visually over time
⚡️ Laser removal and what is actually happening when pigment interacts with laser energy
🪡 Needles, trauma and technique and how our choices influence the tissue response

But more importantly, I want you to leave looking at cosmetic tattooing completely differently.

Tattooing isn’t simply putting pigment into skin.

It’s biology, chemistry and physics all happening at the same time.

The skin is living tissue.
Pigment is a foreign material.
Your needle creates controlled trauma.
The immune system responds.
And light has to travel through all of that before your eyes ever perceive the final colour.

When you understand those processes, you stop simply memorising rules and start understanding why those rules exist in the first place.

If you want to become an artist who doesn’t just know what to do, but understands why you’re doing it, this course was created for you.
