Connecting the skate culture one rink at a time

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

This took a lot for me to post. I started this page and podcast because I love this culture, I truly do. It has changed my life for the better, and I want to see it thrive and continue to save the amount of people that it does. I remember when we didn’t have all these problems as much as we do now. I’ve watched slowly but surely how everything manifested from skaters caught up in their egos created the current scene we’re in now nationwide. And I’m tired of being gaslit when skaters around the country all identify with majority of these issues. They call me and others “hateful” just for speaking up for the culture and community we love but give us jealousy and senses of entitlement the moment we push back and start fixing things, almost as if they’re the hateful ones. But so be it…
I will not stand down, I will not stand by and allow the culture to deteriorate while it saves so many of us…

Anyways…don’t forget to tune in to the podcast on Saturdays 8pm CENTRAL TIME

Envy, Ego, and hating will stagnate your skate journey. True growth in the skate community comes from humility, consistent learning, and putting in the work. Pay attention, take notes, and focus on why you're here in the first place!

Rink owners, we have to stop doing these "one night events" with some random local dj to bring people. The results show, theyre never consistent. One day its 500+ people and the next is 10 people. And how many of them are actually roller skating in these scenarios? Usually not many. But Skate DJs show the results. More people, consistant attendance, and actual SKATERS! Talk to your regulars, they will help you!

If you don't show up, don't dictate the vibe. Rink owners, listen to the community that pays the bills, not the outsiders who don't understand the culture. Your decisions impact those who are actually there every week. #rollerskate #skatelife #sk8life #sk8lyfe #skateculture by @sk8_connect

Could a prophecy about skating's decline come true? Imagine a world where only one rink exists, forcing skaters to travel for hours for a 'half-decent' session. We might be heading towards that reality if we don't unite. #rollerskate #skatelife #sk8life #sk8lyfe #skateculture by @sk8_connect

It's frustrating when people who don't even show up try to dictate skate culture. They claim to be experts, but their actions (or lack thereof) speak louder than words. Don't let fake skaters gaslight you. #rollerskate #skatelife #sk8life #sk8lyfe #skateculture by @sk8_connect

Some people try to control skate night music or demand specific genres, not for the community, but to feed their own ego. They dismiss music they don't know as 'trash' because they can't impress others. This hubris ruins the genuine skate experience for everyone else 💯💯

To all the skaters out there: give your videographers space to work their magic. They're capturing your best moments. Let them edit and deliver quality content. True passion for skating shines through, not just chasing clout or demanding immediate results.

Beware of fake skaters cosplaying the culture. Ego-driven validation seekers don't know history. They feed on attention, not passion. We have to deny these culture vultures from that validation before they ruin the rinks!
