🎉 Happy Birthday to our amazing youngest, Isaiah! 🎂 Even though the day is almost over, I couldn’t let it pass without celebrating you. Today, as we honor your special day, we also reflect on the importance of family and the love that surrounds us.

You are such a kind-hearted, loyal, and fun-loving spirit. Your respect for others and your warm nature light up our lives every day. Watching you grow into the remarkable young man you are has been one of our greatest joys.

Today marks another year around the sun, and as I reflect on my journey to date, I feel profoundly blessed. I want to take a moment to celebrate 3 incredible blessings in my life: Kianna, Arianna, and Isaiah. Each of them brings joy, laughter, and love into my world, shaping who I am each day. It has been a true joy watching them grow into young adults. Seeing them support and uplift each other as siblings is incredibly rewarding. Knowing that I’ve done my job to guide and nurture their bond means the world to me being an only child. Shoot, I almost forgot Carter…lol. So 4 blessings. ❤️. This young grown man keeps me honest and on my toes. 😬

I also want to honor my husband, who has been my partner for nearly 33 years. He has stood by me through my best days and my worst moments, loving me unconditionally. Every twist and turn has been part of the journey that God has laid before me, and even when the path is unclear, I trust that there is a purpose for me.

As I enter this new phase of life, I continue to learn how to embrace faith and trust in God’s will. I’m working on not stressing over the things I can’t control, a practice that requires patience and grace. It’s not easy, but I’m learning and a “work in progress”. 😁

To my friends and extended family, I ask for patience. The physical and emotional changes I’m experiencing lately may sometimes lead me to retreat and become distant. But just know this is part of the transition I’m feeling. I deeply appreciate your understanding during this time.

🎉🎂 Happy 30th Birthday to our incredible firstborn! 💖. Yes. 30!

It’s hard to believe that our little girl who woke up calling “daddeeeee” from her crib in the morning has grown into such a vibrant, kind-hearted, and loving woman.

Kianna, you’ve embraced motherhood with grace, and have certainly stepped in being that “big sister” when needed - leading Arianna and Isaiah with your caring spirit.

Where does the time go? It feels like just yesterday you were taking your first steps. Here’s to celebrating you today and every day! May this new decade bring you all the happiness you deserve. Cheers to many more wonderful adventures ahead! 🥳💕

Last night marked Isaiah's final appearance on the court as an Oakton Owl. While the season didn't conclude as he had hoped, it was undeniably a year filled with growth and maturity. After a challenging freshman start and redshirting his sophomore year, he finished this last season strong, earning a selection to the Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference First Team and submitting his paperwork to graduate in May. In retrospect, Oakton turned out to be the perfect fit for him.

But this is not the end of his journey. Isaiah has finally made a decision about where he will continue his path as a student-athlete, of which he will share soon. 🤷🏾‍♀️

Here are some memorable moments from this season. A heartfelt thanks to Melissa Whyms, Coach Alfonzo Ransom, MJ, Kamau, Avery, Kile, Emery, Darryl, Makai, and Alia for their unwavering support throughout the season, as well as to everyone who tuned in virtually. Yesterday I turned 55. 😳. How did that happen? 🤔. I don’t know. Still trying to figure it out. 🥴
When I turned 50, I took that in stride. It was not as big of a deal as yesterday’s milestone. This milestone caused me to pause and take note. Maybe because 60 “is a knockin”.
I spent a good part of the morning yesterday reflecting. I thank God for allowing me to make it this far and walking by me and protecting me during this journey. From the streets of Roxbury, MA where I learned how to be street smart, to Washington D.C. where my youthful innocence transitioned to real life experiences at Howard University (“You Know”), to finally Chicago Illinois where I planted my own roots and started my family. Each place and the friendships made along the way helped define who I am today - each leaving its own imprint. I am grateful for this journey and look forward to what more God has in store for me.

With that being said, thanks for all the wonderful birthday wishes. They made my day!😘❤️
