I can’t believe this chapter is over. For the past 10 years, basketball wasn’t just something I played, it was a part of who I am. I’m so grateful for every teammate, coach, and supporter who walked this journey with me. God has blessed me with so many memories and friendships that will last far beyond the court. Even though my career is over, the passion and love for the game will always stay with me. by @skalskylilly

SIK Basketball Player to Watch: Senior Lilly Skalsky is a versatile force for Olpe, capable of playing all five positions while anchoring the post. Last season, she averaged 14.6 points, 7 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 2.8 steals, and 4 deflections per game, pushing her career totals to 765 points, 395 rebounds, 134 assists, 160 steals, and 212 deflections. A five-sport athlete excelling in basketball, volleyball, track, cross country, and softball, she’s placed top 10 in cross country every year and medaled six times in track, including a second-place finish. “I’m really excited for this upcoming season as we are returning our entire roster from last year. We’ll be up against some strong opponents, but I believe we’ve made a lot of progress since last season and can’t wait to see what we can do this year!” she said. Skalsky will lean on key teammates Kayla Steinke and her sophomore sister, returning from an ACL injury, to make an impact this season. Skalsky is committed to Emporia State to continue her track and field career at the next level, but first is excited for one last season on the basketball court. #sportsinkansas

I am beyond excited to announce my commitment to Emporia State University to continue my academic and running career! I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to keep pursuing what I love.

I want to give a big thanks to Coach Hill and Coach Henry for believing in me and giving me the chance to compete at the next level. It is such an honor to be able to run on such an incredible team.

I also want to thank all my coaches in the past 7 years who have challenged and pushed me to my fullest potential. Every practice, every race, and every conversation will never be forgotten.

Lastly, I would like to thank all my family, friends and teammates who have pushed me not only to become a better athlete, but a better person. The support around me is something I’ll never take for granted. I would not be where I’m at today without all of you. God has given me so many gifts in life, and everything I have accomplished and will accomplish is for the glory of him. God is so good!!

I can hardly believe this chapter has came to an end. Over the past seven years, this journey has shaped me into who I am today. I will always cherish the people who stood by me, challenged me, and helped deepen my faith. I’m immensely grateful for the community that has supported me every step of the way. I truly wouldn’t be who I am today without them. What began as just a sport, has changed into a passion, one that has left an huge impact on my life. by @skalskylilly
