I’m in a band called @flyingraccoonsuit with my best friends. I hate Mondays. 🍝🐈🏁

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Lil update: my life has shifted entirely these last couple months. I’m figuring out the best ways to navigate my future, learning how to stand up for myself, learning what part my garden to water the most. It feels like so much has happened in such a short period of time, but it was a long time coming. I finally stepped away from my toxic job of 10 years and adopted a doggie that makes my entire world brighter (omg I just love my Baby Bear SO MUCH). It feels so strange (yet very peaceful) to not wake up at 5:30am every day to immediately deal with the worst humans possible and to not have an angry 75 year old man screaming at me and micromanaging me. That was my life for 10 years. An entire third of my life. I really ran myself down trying to be the best I can be at a place full of people I saw every day who didn’t give a shit about me at all, and now I’m attempting to focus on things that bring me joy. I need to find ways to pay bills now, but at least I can find some kind of inner peace. I’m SO ready to do things that spark joy. I’ve been a joyless husk for too long. LFG, I’m so ready for it. October, I cannot wait for you. I’m going to live so much life next month. 🩷 by @skaniatwain

Insane to think about, because I cannot grasp the concept of the passage of time, but ONE YEAR AGO my band released a single called “Mothership” on Bad Time Records. We all piled into the van on a miraculous day that we were all available and filmed a music video at Courtyard Brewery in New Orleans on pretty much the hottest day of the year. The fire effects in the music video might as well have been real, it was HAWT lol. I can’t wait to make more music videos… soon… hmmm 🤔🤭❤️‍🔥 by @skaniatwain

The Bad Time Records Tour ‘26 has been an absolutely wonderful experience for me. I expected it to be a blast already, but it completely blew my expectations and has become a crazy special core memory for me. I got to spend my birthday doing the thing I love to do the most and got go to Universal after. Every single show was perfect. I’m so grateful to have met all these bands and it’s insane to me how I met my own band mates when we were kids and now we’re in our mid-thirties doing exactly what we’ve always wanted to do: be around each other forever making music that we love.

Thank you @killlincolndc @jer.band and @bad_operation for rocking out with us lil raccoons, and thank you @pleasetagmeinyourskaposts for everything you do!!

Too many people to tag but I 💗 everyone in the last slide so much

Sometimes you just want to hit the reset button and go back to when you knew things were going to be good. But we lack access to the Wayback Machine and have to live in the present. Sucks right? But you know what doesn’t suck? @flyingraccoonsuit and this week we are once again joined by @drousaphone and @skaniatwain as we talk about out the song “Way Back” from the 2007 album Monkeys for Nothing and the Chimps for Free.

I was working as a waitress in a cocktail bar, but then I started podcasting about Reel Big Fish! And you know who I met in my waitressing days? @skaniatwain and @drousaphone ! And those two wonderful humans happen to play in @flyingraccoonsuit and they are also into Reel Big Fish! So we decided to sit down and have a chat about the Zolof The Rock & Roll Destroyer cover of “Don’t You Want Me Baby” featuring Reel Big Fish!

I get to go on the Bad Time Records tour in ✨a lil under a month✨ and I’m sitting here counting down the minutes, basically. This is going to be a much needed time for friends, community, heart to heart connection, all the good stuff. I’m going to sing my heart out for five nights in a row and god I can’t wait to feel that fire again. FRS loves you a lot and we’re super duper excited to pile into our van (which we’ve lovingly named Rudy) and make our way to you all 🫶🏻💕 by @skaniatwain

HEY YO!!! We have a show coming up soon with our friends @catbiteband and Jaywood in New Orleans!!! Literally so excited to reunite, September feels like it was forever ago tbh. 😭 Let’s hope nothing weather related happens but I don’t wanna jinx it lmao, almost every time we try to play in New Orleans some kind of weather phenomenon happens. Ahhhhh it’s almost time for FEST!!!! We’ll be at the outdoor Heartwood stage on Sunday, and it’ll be a bit of a different kind of set… so if you’ve seen us before, you’ve never heard this live. 😂 And maybe you won’t ever again? Hmmm… 🤔

also what should I be for Halloween lol by @skaniatwain

Holy cowch, tour was so much fun. Thanks so much to @catbiteband and @rodeoboysofficial for going on the road with this lil Mississippi ska band! Every single show kicked ass and this was a much needed reminder on how to let loose and have fun. We had a couple of Scooby Doo adventures again, which seems to happen to us a lot lmao.

From Cornhenge to the Can Opener bridge, spending 45 minutes super fixated on Ninja Baseball Bat Man, and about 100 trips to Sheetz (chicken burrito & buffalo mac n cheese)… what made this one really special for me was that we had the full crew PLUS @skaprincessdaisy. 💖 Daisy is so insanely talented, fun to be around (we cried laughing countless times), and wonderful at tackling shoulder knots. 😂

Next time we get in the Mystery Machine, AKA Rudie, it’ll be for FEST in Gainesville.

Ska and rubber duckies now more than ever.
