I've been trying to climb the mysterious Rio Nieve Couloir on Rio Grande Pyramid (13,825') for years. But, as I found out last week, Ute Creek is a wild place with rushing rivers and hidden cliffs sheltered by thick, dense forest and copious deadfall.

Compounded by the fact that, getting anywhere in the Weminuche Wilderness involves MILES of trail. So, this climbing trip turned into a recon trip. But now, at least I know a route that goes to access this deeply-hidden coully.

And honestly, ANY trip into the Weminuche is a win. 😎

Random pictures from Tierra del Fuego & #porvenir. Horse riding, Southern Andean Fox, the ferry across the Straight of Magellian and of course, #penguins . Wasn't impressed with Northern Tierra del Fuego.
But the King Penguins were incredibly adorable! We even saw three chicks!
We'll be back next year to Lago Pehoe & Easter Island.
