🛹 First Results from the Erasmus+ Project “Skateboarding Beyond”

After three years of international collaboration with our partners in Spain, Sweden and Germany the project is now approaching its final stage. The first results show that skateboarding can promote social inclusion, strengthen self-confidence, and create inclusive learning environments for children and young people.

In the latest blog post by the German federation we shared some key findings from the final evaluation report and provide insights into the implementation of the project in Germany. You can also find the full reports there.

Last weekend I was fortunate enough to attend the first ever @socialskatesummit in London and it was an amazing experience! So many inspiring people that push the vision of social skateboarding from all over the world came together 🌐❤️‍🔥🤝🛹

Working in the world of social skateboarding can sometimes feel draining, but to have events like this, where so many likeminded people meet and have a platform to exchange their ideas and visions is so empowering and important.

I had the privilege to reconnect with old friends again, make a lot of new ones and listen to some very interesting panels about inclusive skate spaces, academia and research, the (mental) health impact of skateboarding and much more. I learned so much that is going to benefit our daily work with the kids.

My favorite part were the skate sessions with everyone, the hype and energy reminded me again of why I started skateboarding in the first place.

Thank you so much for the organization @skateistan @thegoodpush @keeprolling_co @citymillskate and everyone else that was involved 🎊 Can’t wait for the next one!

Final conference - Skateboarding Beyond 🛹🌈

Last week Thursday our partners from @fedpatinaje 🇪🇸, @sverigesskateboardforbund 🇸🇪 and @skateboarddeutschland 🇩🇪 met in Málaga for the final conference of Skateboarding Beyond. We discussed the impact our project had over the last years, what can be done to improve it and how we can ensure a sustainable use of the results in the future. We’re happy and proud to announce that we reached a total of 445 participants across the three countries, almost 40% of them being girls. By that the project took a part to promote gender equality within Skateboarding. Apart from that the results confirm the potential of skateboarding as a social intervention tool, as the participants reportedly were more confident, self-aware and grew their social skills through the workshops. Thank you to all our partners, coaches and ambassadors that helped to bring the vision of Skateboarding Beyond to life! And a special thank you to @fedpatinaje for hosting and organizing the conference in the beautiful city of Málaga.

What an incredible day at Kaufhalle Berlin! As the final stop of the German tour for „Skateboarding Beyond“ (a EU-wide Erasmus+ project), we witnessed firsthand the immense creativity and energy within the Berlin skate community.

A huge thank you to the DRIV (German Roller Sports and Inline Association) for trusting us as partners to lead the design workshops. It was an absolute honor to be part of this project and to see how skateboarding connects kids from all different backgrounds.

A massive shoutout also goes to @skatedeluxe_skateshop for the amazing support and to @kernvoll for the top-tier vegan catering that kept everyone fueled and rolling!

We are still buzzing from the incredible turnout – Berlin, you really showed up!

⚠️ STAY TUNED – IT’S GETTING EXCITING! ⚠️

True masterpieces were created in our workshops. But which design is your favorite?

🔜 COMMUNITY VOTING: We will soon launch a voting session right here on Instagram where YOU choose the best board design.

🏆 The Prize: The design with the most votes will be produced by us as a real, one-of-a-kind skateboard deck and handed over to the artist!

Keep an eye on our Stories – the voting starts very soon!

Was für ein Abschluss! 🛹✨
