We are Yuno Arts

Rooted in neurodivergent and queer experience, our work emerges from the friction of not fitting neatly into systems that demand rigidity. We see this resistance not as a limitation, but as a catalyst for invention and connection.

As Chinese-Canadian artists, we recognize the challenges that come with upholding familial and cultural expectations.

We represent an intersection of neurodivergent, queer, and East Asian identities. Through our work, we aim to build community and connection, bringing awareness to the barriers that exist within the intersections of minority groups. by @skatienova

We're getting down to business... to defeat gender norms.

In our duo, we switch the role of porter and flyer often. We honour each other's unique characteristics by exploring beyond the boundaries of traditional social norms. In this way, we can fully embrace who we truly are.

“I Wanted More” — Aerial Skating Act

@justinsleeps and I combined our primary disciplines to create this piece for @ottawa_circus_fest 2026🎭

I was a human prop in this act. Most of my artistic contribution was behind the scenes, developing the sketch and story of the piece. Collaborating in this creative process served as an opportunity to examine my development as a person and artist in the last year — learning to be emotionally in tune, and translating feelings into tangible and outwardly perceptible expressions.

I am looking forward to furthering our exploration of duo aerial skating and continuing to harness and channel our artistic voices in our upcoming project!

"I Wanted More" - Aerial Skating

A long time ago @skatienova proposed we become professional aerial figure skaters. I thought it was possible for them, but not for me. Everyone expects a professional to have started as a child. Nova started at age 4 - I just turned 24.

Here I am trying anyway. 9 months into this pursuit, our first performance at @ottawa_circus_fest was a huge success!

We'll be travelling abroad soon to further develop ourselves. I won't give spoilers now. This is just the beginning.

AQUARION: Free At Last🐉🪸

Solo moments from this underwater-themed production.

Thank you to @emi.ice @ewrightice.design for pouring your soul into creating this fantasy world — for directing and providing support throughout the process (and for making the costumes🌟). With gratitude to @videobychelsea for these stunning clips, and to @brassbutterflies for making this opportunity possible. Thank you to @finleys.faces and @kitty.g0r3.glams for the leviathan makeup. Congratulations to the entire cast for bringing this story to life!🐠🦀🪼 by @skatienova
