Safe skies that can only send rain is a blessing we should all value. In Ukraine, at night skies tend to become deadly. They light up not only with stars and roar not only with thunder. Today’s night was of no exclusion, killing people of peaceful cities of Kyiv and Odesa. Those who want to stay safer at night live underground. -

My country is not allowed to just exist. We have to give up all we have, surrender under the Russian will and authority and preferably do it quickly. How dare we respond to invasion of our lands. Ukraine has never ever in its history claim rights on other countries, we never had colonialism and imperialism we only wanted to be our own country and flourish. But it’s way too annoying to our neighbor. The world is cynical and who would have guessed that in 2025 Ukraine would have to fight two extremely powerful countries and still not give up. I hope all Ukrainian people will be able to resist these complicated times and have the peaceful life they deserve. by @skazhenia

*Thoughts and revelations* Apparently drawing is when you try to tell a long story in a single moment of time captured on the canvas. It takes you years to experience the story, weeks or even month to execute it and only one single moment to expose. Short pose live drawing sessions in Kyiv turned out to be way too short for me (5-10-15-1 minutes). At the same time very warm, very professional, very fun. The model was changing the pose flawlessly transitioning from one to another with no breaks (I with there were 😅). I am super happy I managed to jump into this in the short time I’m home and meet in person super cool contemporary Ukrainian artists, @anna_veriki and @maxum_art taken in Kyiv, Ukraine by @skazhenia

The other part of me met my artistic one. I had an honor to design a symbolic gifts for the product launch of the company where I am working. It’s mimics the famous Delft Blau tiles and depicts the product - a utility scale system for testing quantum computer chips 🍪 I am proud of all of us for this year of hard work. taken in Delft by @skazhenia

Art classes is something I can barely fit in my schedule. Three days a week, two of which are weekends and one after work till 10 PM. I come home on Sunday evening simultaneously extremely tired and also very rested. Tired physically, rested mentally. I feel blessed that I found a hobby that is taking over my life more and more and brings so much sense in it. I am joking that I’m dating models from life model sessions since I just don’t have time for other dates 🥲

Today we had a critique session from our teacher at which I got words of appreciation that mean a world to me because I feel that the love to art that I have is reciprocal. I’m very grateful to Georgio Mesa (@mesagregoriopintor) and to my other teachers: Mischa Tranquilli, Thomas Langeveld (@thomas_langeveld_art) Andrii Kateryniuk (@andrii_kateryniuk) Karolina Bundash @yoursummerness many great people from whom I took workshops and also to Oleksandr Dobrodiy (@aleksandr.dobrodiy), my almost first ever teacher from Ukraine with whom I had watercolor lessons before I left Ukraine. I wish I could have 10 times more time with each of them.

The short pose lessons are coming to an end 🥲 next trimester I’m not taking it because there will be an anatomy class and I am no Hermione. I’m curious if I would stay as excited about the art if I did it full time. I guess it will remain unknown taken in Dutch Atelier of Realist Art by @skazhenia
