Friday release

Walk in clean with a tilt in my brim
Light hit gold, now the whole room dim
Step one time, make the floorboards spin
They don’t know, but they feel that vim

Little bit shine, little bit grin
Play it cool but I’m locked all in
No big talk, let the rhythm win
When I slide… yeah, that’s when it begin

Wait—don’t blink, you might miss that spark
One move, now I’m leavin’ a mark

Hold up
Hold on
Be bold
Be strong
Stand up
Stand tall
Be loud
Don’t crawl

Break free
No fear
Step out
Right here
Speak truth
No pause
No shame
No flaws

Chest out
Head high
No doubt
We fly
No chains
No stall
Rise up
Take all

Say less
Move slick
Don’t trip
Stay lit
One shot
One call
Go big
Don’t fall

Backbeat knock, got the kick so rude
Bassline talkin’, got a slick attitude
Top down low when I make that move
Whole room stuck in the pocket groove taken in Amsterdam, Netherlands by @skelleysdream

“It’s not what happens to you, but how you react to it that matters.” — Epictetus

Watching this dove clear the gap between café tables without a second thought. Missing half a leg, yet hopping with twice the balance and precision of anything else on two feet. Life cuts away what it wants, but tenacity always figures out how to land clean.

“To dance tango is to share a secret between two people.”

Dancers from across borders coming together in the heart of the North. The Groningen Tango Festival isn’t just about sharp steps and fluid giros; it’s that electric hush across the milonga when the violins fade and everyone finds the same rhythm. Unpack the dance shoes, step inside, and let the embrace take over.

“Imperfection is beauty, madness is genius, and it’s better to be absolutely ridiculous than absolutely boring.” — Marilyn Monroe 💋✨

Marilyn Monroe. Walking the historic northern streets of Groningen, where brick facades lean over quiet canals, only to step into the sharp, futuristic lines of Forum Groningen. Inside, the spotlight turns to Marilyn—her vulnerability, her brilliance, and that effortless magnetism captured in silver-screen light. A perfect pairing of Northern Dutch grit and timeless Hollywood glamour.

Tango is a conversation without words, where the floor listens to every breath.

The festival doors open, leather soles brush the polished floorboards, and the energy in Martiniplaza settles into that unmistakable hum. Night one in Groningen begins in the best possible way: inside the embrace, moving to the beat of the bandoneón, with a whole weekend of dancing ahead.

“Every day may not be good, but there’s something good in every day—especially when that day is Friday.” — Alice Morse Earle. The shift in gravity happens early today. The stride gets lighter, the coffee tastes a little sweeter, and the inbox suddenly loses every bit of its bite. Shut down the heavy tasks, leave the desk early if you can, and take the front steps two at a time. The weekend starts the second you decide it does.

“A good traveler has no fixed plans, and is not intent on arriving.” — Lao Tzu. The best journeys happen when you stop counting the miles and just let the road dictate the pace. Elbow resting on the open windowsill, old tunes humming through the speakers, and the steady, honest pull of the asphalt cutting straight into the fading light.

“There is virtue in work and there is virtue in rest. Use both and overlook neither.” — Alan Cohen. You can smell the finish line from here. The week tried to leave a mark, but the heavy gears are finally slowing down. Knock out the last few loose ends, leave the non-essentials in the draft folder, and pour something smooth into a heavy tumbler. The open road is practically in sight.

“The only certainty is that nothing is certain.” — Pliny the Elder. You plan the route down to the minute, lay out the map, and within twenty paces the weather turns and the road forks. But that’s usually where things get interesting. Pour the thermos, lean into the gray mist, and let the day unfold without asking for your permission first.
