🧡 Every Child Matters.

On September 30, we honour the children who never returned home from residential schools, the Survivors, and the families and communities who continue to carry their stories.

As part of Prince Albert Grand Council, SFNEM works alongside First Nations communities across Saskatchewan. Today, we recognize the strength and resilience of Survivors here at home, while acknowledging the lasting impacts of residential schools. We remain committed to listening, learning, and building relationships grounded in respect.

The SFNEM office will be closed Wednesday, September 30, in observance of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and Orange Shirt Day.

The road to the competition starts with training. 🚒🔥

Our team has been out in the communities helping firefighters sharpen their skills and prepare for the upcoming competition.

📍 Fond du Lac Denesuline First Nation — Don & Cory working with local firefighters on hands-on training.

📍 Cumberland House Cree Nation — Josh & Colbe putting crews through their paces and getting them competition-ready.

Different communities. Different crews. Same goal — build skills, confidence, and stronger First Nation fire services.

Big thanks to all the firefighters putting in the work. We’ll see you at the competition! 💪

Our thoughts and prayers are with the families in Southend who recently lost their homes in a series of devastating structure fires. ❤️

While visiting the community, two of our finest Saskatchewan First Nations Emergency Management (SFNEM) team members were able to immediately assist local firefighters with suppression efforts. Working alongside other responding agencies, crews successfully prevented the fire from spreading to a third home.

We also extend our thanks to our partner agency, the Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency (SPSA), for providing critical aerial suppression with a heli-bucket in support of firefighters on the ground.

Incidents like these remind us that strong partnerships and quick action make a difference. Wishing strength and healing to everyone affected.
