Last weekend's "Learning through Dancing" workshop symposium at Stockholm University of the Arts was an enriching and inspiring day full of proven practices for facilitating dance, somatics, and movement exploration in school classrooms from preschool through high school, demonstrating the power of embodied and enactive learning for languages, reading and literacy, mathematics, natural sciences, social studies/children's rights, and not in the least how dancing brings school groups together socially, emotionally, and creatively. Much gratitude to presenters Ebba Theorell, Sophia Färlin-Månsson, Ninnie Andersson, Paul Moerman, Maria Edin, Agnès Benoit, Maikki Uotila-Kraatz, Maria Nordlöw, and all the enthusiastic participants. ‘Twas but a drop in the ocean, here's to the ripples and waves!

Tomas Olsson recenserar dansföreställningen "up up up" i SvD. Se den på MDT senast 21 mars.

"När nu BamBam Frost tillsammans med andraårsstudenterna på kandidatprogrammet i dans vid Stockholms konstnärliga högskola, SKH, återvänder till ”Sorry” från 2018 och versionen ”So sorry”, som turnerade med Riksteatern året efter, är det med en expanderad version av de båda verken. ”Up up up” framförs här av hela sjutton dansare till skillnad från tre i de föregående verken. Och visst händer det någonting när den internationella gruppen tar sig an och gör sin tolkning av Frosts koreografiska material och blick på inspirationskällorna."

We are thrilled to see Up up up spotlighted in Svenska Dagbladet as a work filled with promise, playful intensity, and a rich, multi-layered collage of movement.
The review highlights the powerful collective presence of our 17 performers, drawing inspiration from pop culture, music videos, live concerts, and iconic references, all brought together through the direction and distinct artistic voice of BamBam Frost.
Watching this ensemble take the stage and transform these inspirations into something of their own has been extraordinary.

💫BamBamFrost och SKH-studenter i dansverket UP UP UP har PREMIÄR på MDT ikväll fredag 13 mars kl. 19! @skhdance_events

Verket framförs av studenter i årskurs två på kandidatprogrammet i dans och är en del av deras repertoarstudier. Genom repetition och framförande tar dansarna sig an ett befintligt koreografiskt verk och för det vidare in i nuet.

up up up är det tredje steget i en pågående koreografisk studie som började med Sorry (2018) och So Sorry (2019). Detta nya verk fortsätter klättra in i landskapet av underhållning och popkulturella bildvärldar. I up up up fortsätter undersökningen av hur populärkultur formar kroppar, uttryck, estetik- hur den formar metoder för att underhålla, förföra och upprepa.

up up up riktar sin blick mot underhållarens position. Med hjälp av rörelse, musikvideologik och spår av tidigare popkulturella fenomen dyker artisterna ner i vad som händer i dekonstruktionen, i upprepningen, i pauserna, i mellanrummen, under, ovanför och bakom de bilder som så gärna konsumeras.

up up up förlänger en koreografisk linje av att se och se om, ifrågasätta och leka med den kultur som formar våra begär. Det är både en glädjefylld hyllning till själva framförandet och en studie av de krafter som fortsätter att forma det vi längtar efter. by @witchy_disco

When was the last time you, as an audience, got to spend time with a dance performance more than once? When was the last time you got to witness a work transform and shapeshift in different spaces with different performers over the span of nearly a decade? In our dance performance ecosystem defined by fleeting time, fleeing resources, and a hectic pursuit of “the new” it is not so common of an experience. This week and next week you have the opportunity to witness the charged, unapologetic, playful, and mesmerizing world of BamBam Frost’s SORRY and So Sorry in its most recent incarnation with the 2nd year students in dance from SKH in Up up up. The Master's programme in Choreography at SKH (MACHOR) is designed to create a milieu for learning, dancing, and research that leads to making things.

MACHOR is for you who want to deepen and challenge what dance can do and what choreography can serve.

MACHOR is practice based as well as research preparatory, and will qualify you for a Degree of Master of Fine Arts in Choreography.
