Slowly gathering Louise Penny books into the TBR pile. Let's see, I have already read Still Life and Fatal Grace. The stack you see before you is 3 (The Cruelest Month) 4 (A Rule Against Murder) and 5 (The Brutal Telling) BTW I really love Pango Books!!! Ive bought ALL of these with money made selling on Pango so these were all basically free (amiright?)

I finished my re-read on audio of East of Eden last night on my drive home from work. This truly is an Epic Masterpiece of a classic!!! In 2008, my first read, I gave it 5 out of 5 stars on goodreads. It is a study on Good vs Evil. The characterizations are all wonderful. Even Crazy Kathy is well thought out. It was good to refamiliarize myself with the Trask and Hamilton families and good ol' Lee!!! ( I ADORE THE CHARACTER LEE!!!) If you haven't read this yet, and its on your list of books to read, I urge you to move it up in the pile and read it sooner rather than later!!!! Overall Score all the glittering stars!!

📖 ***Book Review*** 🎧

What can I say ...maybe its me but this is my least liked St James book. All the characters were extremely unlikeable, as a matter of fact, the only one I did like was Ben. And he was very peripheral. I guess the spookiness was there, but it took me half the book to even care about any of it. I did like how she kept referencing The Sundown Motel. I'm fairly sure this one just wasn't for me. I'm sure many loved it, for me its s miss though. Overall Score 3.25 out of 5 ⭐️'s

All right guys and gals we all know the year is winding down. We're in the ber months, and we all know a content creator (or creators) who have posted their 10 before the end. BUT, I know I am a slow reader who averages about 4 a month. And after my spooky season stack ( which I have already posted) I only have 2 months left. So without further ado...I give you my 8 that will be Great stack !!!
You're welcome !!!

📖 ***Book Review*** 📖

I finished this one last night (so I am still putting it with September reads). I love the way Louise Penny writes, and I love 3 Pines and its inhabitants. I love the found family elements that are woven through her stories. I can not wait to go find book 3, I may not start it anytime soon. But knowing its in my possession will be a comfort. Overall score 4 out of 5 ⭐️'s (even though I figured out the killer early on it was a good time getting confirmation).

Ok story time...2 or 3 years ago I found myself at a bookstore ( surprised ?) And I decided I needed some Louise Penny in my life, so I purchased Still Life and this. The first and second books of her Inspector Gamache series. I read and loved Still Life. Then, since I don't really like reading a series back to back, promptly forgot I bought this one. I said all that to say this.... I found this lil gem on one of my book shelves, took it out, and am currently reading book 2 ( like I need to get invested in another 20+ book series, amIright?)

****UPDATE****I may have found the solution!!!! The books I want to re-read I will do by audio on my commute while in the car. New books will be physical copies when I am at home. Granted the re reads may take longer but, who cares, I've already read them !!

Ok... lets discuss. I am torn on a subject. Re-reading books. On the one hand I understand the appeal of revisiting old stories and seeing if we still feel the same way. But at the same time new books are calling. I really want to re read : The Stand, IT and East of Eden, but I know all three stories .....what are your thoughts friends?

📖 ***Book Review***
I finished this last night. I really enjoyed it, which is understandable since it has 2 of my favorite things, found family and crows. Set during WW 2 it is a bleak story but one that resonates hope. Without giving much away I will say I loved the way the crows were portrayed. The prose was lush and beautiful. This was my first by Ray Nayler and overall I would give it 3.75 out of 5 💫's

I love that, more recently, hardcover books are giving us something to look at AFTER the dust jacket is removed. Little treasures you might say!🙂
