✨ We had such a wonderful time in Boston – we visited my dear friend from my home region who welcomed us so warmly into her home. Together with her and her family, we enjoyed every moment, explored Boston and Cambridge, and even visited Harvard! ❤️ by @ski_ica

July 24th, 1999.
A date we never forget.
The day our grandfather disappeared… without a trace.

He left home… and never came back.
No goodbye. No explanation.
Just silence.

He left behind six daughters...
and a family that’s been living with a wound ever since.
A wound made not just of loss —
but of questions.

Where is he?
What happened?
Did he suffer?

That pain…
the not knowing…
has never left us.

But neither has his love.
We grew up on stories about him.
Stories of kindness, warmth, laughter.
Of a father… who would’ve been the most incredible grandfather.

But I never got the chance to meet him.

Someone decided to take him from us —
and with him, they took our right to say goodbye.
To grieve.
To heal.

Our mothers never got answers.
Never found a place to mourn.
Never had a final moment to hold on to.

And still…
his presence is in everything we are.

I wish he could see us now.
See the love he brought into this world.
See how beautifully his family has grown.
His warmth lives on —
and with every new generation,
we pass a piece of him forward.

Every year, on July 24th,
we return to the place he once called home.
To remember.
To honor.
To hold space —
for him,
and for everyone who has ever lost someone too soon.

This day… is more than remembrance.
It’s a quiet cry for truth.
A promise:
That love… does not disappear. And that his story…
will never be forgotten.
