💥 BIG NEWS: Never skied or snowboarded before? This is for you!⁣
⁣
This season, we’re unveiling Polar Passage, a new bubble-covered conveyor lift designed to make first turns smoother, more sheltered and more comfortable for beginners of all ages.⁣
⁣
Helping more people discover the joy of sliding on snow has been a priority at Big White Ski Resort since the Schumann family purchased the resort in 1985. This year’s $1-million investment continues that legacy, with expanded teaching space and terrain improvements that will make learning easier and more fun.⁣

Three existing beginner lifts are also getting fresh new names: Tiny Tracks, Frosty Flyer and Moose Mover. ❄️⁣
⁣
Plus, our Beginner Lift Ticket is just $29 for guests aged six and older, while children five and under ski free, helping make those unforgettable first turns more accessible.⁣
⁣
Together, these improvements will create what we believe is the most advanced beginner learning area in Western Canada.🍁⁣

In honour of National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, we pause to reflect and listen to the voices of Survivors, acknowledging the painful legacy of residential schools in our country and the ongoing journey toward healing and understanding.⁣
⁣
We are proud to share an Every Child Matters design created by our Marketing Manager, Mica Knibbs, a member of the Lax Kw’alaams Band, a community descended from the Nine Tribes of the Tsimshian.⁣
⁣
The artwork is rich in meaning and symbolism. At its heart is the mother wolf, representing community and family. She lies with her cub, alongside the emptiness left by the thousands of children who never came home. One paw reaching forward with optimism toward growth and possibility, and the other reaching back to protect her heritage and people. This balance between past and future reflects the history and hope of the Indigenous culture. Behind them, the moon rises — a guiding force offering protection, wisdom, and direction as we continue to build a more just and compassionate future together. ⁣
⁣
In observance of National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, our offices are closed on September 30. On this day and every day, we acknowledge the children who never returned home, the Survivors and their families, and commit to learning, listening and taking meaningful steps toward reconciliation.⁣
