🎿 HOW RHYTHMIC ARE YOUR TURNS? Developing rhythm and consistency is an important part of improving your skiing.
One of the biggest benefits of training indoors is the controlled environment. It allows you to focus on specific movements, repeat them and develop new skills without constantly adapting to changing terrain and snow conditions.
⛷️ TRY THIS NEXT TIME YOU SKI: Make six consecutive turns, focusing on maintaining the same turn shape, size and timing. Can you keep your rhythm consistent throughout?
🎯 The more consistently you can perform a skill, the easier it becomes to take that skill into the mountains and adapt it to different situations.
That’s why we love training indoors at Ski Focus!

🎿 CAN YOU VARY YOUR TURNS? Can you confidently change the size of your turns? Being able to make short, medium and long turns is an essential skill for becoming a more adaptable skier. Why is this so important? Because the mountains are constantly changing! Different terrain, snow conditions, gradients and even the number of people on the slope all influence the type of turns you need to make. The more control you have over your turn shape, the easier it becomes to adapt your skiing, manage your speed and maintain your confidence. 🎿 TRY THIS ON SNOW: On a comfortable slope, practise moving between short, medium and long turns. Can you change your turn size whilst maintaining your balance, rhythm and control? 🏔️ TAKE IT TO THE MOUNTAINS! This is exactly the type of skill we develop during my All Mountain Ski Camps in Tignes, taking the fundamentals of skiing and learning how to apply them across different terrain and snow conditions. 🎿 Why wait until your ski holiday to start improving your skiing? One of the biggest benefits of training indoors is arriving in the mountains already feeling confident, balanced and ready to ski. I see it all the time in my coaching. A little regular, focused practice before your holiday can make a huge difference to how much you enjoy your time on snow. I’ve put together 4 reasons why indoor training is worth it, along with some simple tips you can try yourself. 👉 Swipe through the carousel and save it for later! Train indoors to mountain. Can you feel your outside ski? 🎿 One of the keys to improving your skiing is learning to stay balanced against your outside ski throughout each turn. When you lose that balance, it becomes harder to maintain grip, control and consistency. Next time you’re skiing, focus on maintaining your balance against the outside ski as you move smoothly through each turn. Small changes can make a big difference! Fancy taking your skiing further in the mountains? I’ll be coaching in Tignes this November and December, with opportunities to develop your skills, build confidence and put everything into practice on real mountain terrain. 🎿 Find out more about my Tignes coaching weeks through the link in my bio. Are these 3 mistakes holding back your carving? 🎿
When it comes to carving, bigger movements and more effort don’t always mean better results.
Three common mistakes I see when coaching are: 1. Forcing the turn 2. Losing the outside ski 3. Trying to create too much edge angle too soon
The key is to stay balanced, be patient and develop your movements progressively. Swipe through for some simple tips you can try next time you’re skiing.
Which of these mistakes do you recognise in your own skiing? Let me know below! 👇

Are you rushing your turns? 🎿 One of the things I regularly see when coaching is skiers trying to make their skis turn too quickly. When carving, it’s important to be patient and allow the skis to respond as you progressively increase the edge angle. Next time you’re skiing, try focusing on developing your turns smoothly rather than forcing them. Keep skiing simple. #skiing #carving #skitips #skicoaching #skifocus by @skifocus
Are you spending time on the slopes but not seeing the improvement you’d like? 🎿
Skiing more doesn’t always mean skiing better.
One thing I see regularly when coaching is just how much difference it makes when skiers have a clear focus, useful feedback and the opportunity to practise consistently.
In this carousel, I’m sharing three things that can help you make real progress with your skiing.
Which one do you think would make the biggest difference to your skiing? Let me know in the comments! 👇

Are you trying to change too many things in your skiing? 🎿
One of the biggest mistakes I see skiers make is trying to improve everything at once.
Real progress comes from keeping things simple, having a clear focus and giving yourself time to practise.
Next time you’re skiing, choose just ONE thing to work on for five runs. Notice what changes!
Small, focused improvements can make a big difference.
What’s the one thing you’re currently working on in your skiing? Let me know below! 👇
 Keep skiing simple.
