Shakin’ and stirrin’ cocktails at home because it’s fun and that’s what I’m here for.✌🏽💘🥃
POSTS STORIES REELS
Birthday Gimlet . . . First time in a long time there has been no snow to play in on my birthday. I think we’ll just go bowling. Here’s my favorite birthday girl glass that Dad gave me many years ago! 3 oz Aquavit 1 oz Fresh squeezed lime juice 0.5 oz Simple syrup Fresh grated nutmeg Shake and fine strain into a glass. Garnish with a dehydrated lime wheel. ✌🏼💘🥃 #happybirthday #birthdaygirl #aquavit #cheers #celebrate by @skigrrrl
Violet Alpine 💜 . . . It’s herbal, aromatic, slightly sweet, and sure to sweep your Valentine off their feet. 2 oz Vodka @brokenshed 0.5 oz Crème de Violette 0.25 oz Génépy 1 dash Orange Bitters Stir with ice and strain into a chilled absinthe rinsed glass. Garnish with a lemon twist. ✌🏼💘🍸 #Tastethedifference #valentinesday #stirrednotshaken #vodkacocktails #vodkadrinks by @skigrrrl
Carajillo . . . My tequila loving best friend—the one who shared all the bottles at our fabulous tequila tasting party last summer—stopped by recently to hangout and I sent him home with a couple ounces of Licor 43 and this recipe from @carneliancooks. Neither of us had tried a Carajillo before. It was long overdue. We had a lot of fun shaking it up separately, but together, and agree that it’s a winner! It’s a a simple three ingredient recipe and a perfect balance of earthy, bitter, spicy and sweet, with a nice frothy top. We are definitely making this again and again. 1.5 oz Reposado Tequila 1 oz Licor 43 1.5 oz Espresso Shake with ice and strain into a coupe. First pic is mine, second pic is @clouds_cannot_contain_me. 🦥 ✌🏼💘🥃 #drinkswithfriends #carajillo #tequila #licor43 #espresso by @skigrrrl
Solstice Sun ☀️ . . . Ginger and orange are a match made in heaven! Here I combined earthy caraway and zesty citrus with spicy ginger and golden honey. The foamy top provides a nice base for a generous dusting of freshly grated nutmeg and a wonderful aromatic finish. It’s a toast to the arrival of winter, great for a festive brunch, and a relaxing treat to unwind after a day on the slopes. 1.5 oz Aquavit 1 oz Ginger Liqueur @bigoliqueur 1.5 oz Fresh squeezed orange juice 1 oz Fresh squeezed lemon juice 0.75 oz Honey syrup 4 dashes Fee Foam (or your preferred alternative) Shake with ice and strain into a coupe. Top with freshly grated nutmeg all over the top. This drink is silky with or without the foam. If you want to skip the foam, just rim the glass with nutmeg or cinnamon sugar instead. ✌🏼💘🥃 #wintercocktails #drinkstagram #aquavit #bestcocktails #cocktailrecipes by @skigrrrl
Bloody Mary . . . I knew my husband and dad would both appreciate Bloody Marys on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, so I picked up a bottle of The Original St. Helens Bloody Mary Mix from Oregon Hill Farms earlier this week @staffordbeverage. This mix is fresh and flavorful, made with high quality all-natural ingredients and no preservatives. I couldn’t have made a better mix from scratch. The guys drank them down and agreed that they tasted great and the spice level was nice. Dad said he’d recommend this mix to anyone. 2 oz Vodka 4 oz St. Helens Bloody Mary Mix Build in a glass with ice and give it a stir. I rimmed my glass with flaked sea salt and Tajin, garnished with a lime wedge, and tossed in a decorative straw. My dad prefers his Bloody Marys with a salt rim and a lime wedge, only a lime wedge, but add all the garnishes your heart desires! ✌🏼💘🥃 #MerryChristmasEve #BloodyMary #BloodyMaryMix #ChristmasBrunch #ChristmasCocktails by @skigrrrl
She’s So Loud! . . . 2 oz Gin 1 oz Fresh squeezed lime juice 0.5 oz Hibiscus tea syrup @smithteamaker 2 dashes Cardamom bitters @thebitterhousewife Several dashes Fee Foam @feebrothersofficial 0.25 oz Green Chartreuse Rinse a glass with Green Chartreuse and leave any excess in the glass. Dry shake all other ingredients, then add ice and shake again. Pour contents into the rinsed glass. Garnish with fresh mint. This colorful gin sour is a #reshake #mashup with a little twist, combining ingredients from recent recipes I came across from two of our cocktail loving friends. It’s quite similar to the delicious Last Word riff @reallyicetomeetyou made, called “She Always Has the Last Word”, but I omitted the elderflower liqueur and added tea syrup and cardamom bitters after @ndh_creative shared his Gin Old Fashioned with a chartreuse rinse. Noah made a cherry blossom green tea syrup that sounded delightful, but I grabbed a bag of Big Hibiscus tea because it’s got a hint of elderflower to harken back to that Last Word riff, plus the color is loud! I’m having better success with the Fee Foam lately and am really enjoying the added texture with no impact on the flavor. Also, I was super excited to find decent looking mint at the market for the first time in months. I love winter, but I sure miss my mint garden. ✌🏼💘🥃 #ginsour #gin #gindrinks #hibiscus #smithteamaker #thebitterhousewife #caradmom #bitters #greenchartreuse #feefoam #freshmint #cocktailtime #craftcocktails #cocktailrecipes #valentinesday #drinkswithfriends #thecircleofcocktails by @skigrrrl
Holiday Spiced Banana Daiquiri . . . Happy New Year! 🎉 As promised, here’s another recipe I mixed up using the Holiday Cordial from the Holiday Shopper Margarita recipe. The cordial is made with water, sugar, fresh ginger, vanilla bean paste and cinnamon. I’ve been driving a lot lately and listening to all sorts of podcasts on the road. I recently played the banana daiquiri episode from Cocktail College (@vinepair) and it had me craving a banana daiquiri, which was a great way to use this seasonal syrup. 2 oz Aged Rum @flordecanarum 0.5 oz Crème de Banane @tempus_fugit_spirits 0.5 oz Holiday cordial 1 oz Fresh squeezed lime juice Shake with ice and fine strain into a coupe. No garnish needed. If you’ve got any good podcast recommendations, please let me know! ✌🏼💘🥃 #happynewyear #daiquiris #banana #daiquiri #agedrum #rum #rumdrinks #cocktails #homebartending #drinksathome #bestcocktails #cheersto2025 by @skigrrrl
Holiday Shopper Margarita . . . This recipe from Imbibe hit my inbox a week or so ago and I couldn’t wait to shake it up! I’m not much of a holiday shopper, but simply couldn’t resist the combination of flavors in this margarita. Recipe from Beau du Bois of Puesto Courtesy of Imbibe Magazine 2 oz Hibiscus-infused Reposado Tequila 1 oz Holiday cordial 1 oz Fresh squeezed lime juice 0.75 oz Grand Marnier The recipe says to briefly whip shake with a handful of pebble ice, dump directly into a glass, and garnish with fresh mint and powdered sugar. I shook with ice, strained over crushed ice, and garnished with a cinnamon stick, powdered sugar and a Santa pick. The holiday cordial recipe calls for 1 cup water, 1 cup sugar, 2 tablespoons thinly sliced ginger, 1 tablespoon vanilla bean paste, and 1 cinnamon stick. Heat to a simmer, let the mixture simmer for 2 minutes, remove from the heat, and let it cool for 1 hour before patiently straining through a coffee filter. Okay, this was delicious and absolutely worth the effort to infuse the tequila and make the holiday cordial. I only did a small 6 ounce tequila infusion using a sample pack of dried hibiscus flowers from @selefina.spices and it worked great. And, that holiday cordial is sooo good! I’ll try to share a few other drinks I’ve made with it, like a yummy banana daiquiri. Cheers to Christmas! ✌🏼💘🥃 #margarita #margaritas #hibiscus #tequila #holidayseason #cordial #vanillabeanpaste #cinnamon #freshginger #christmascocktails #christmasdrinks #festivedrinks #margs #holidaydrinks #cocktailparty #christmasparty by @skigrrrl
Christmas Gimlet . . . 3 oz Aquavit 1.25 oz Fresh squeezed lime juice .75 oz Cinnamon syrup Fresh grated nutmeg Shake with ice and fine strain into a coupe. I garnished with an orchid flower. ✌🏼💘🥃 #aquavit #akvavit #gimlet #cinnamon #nutmeg #christmastime #holidaydrinks #ochristmastree by @skigrrrl
Bourbon Sour . . . 2.25 oz Bourbon @smokewagonwhiskey 1 oz Fresh squeezed lemon juice 0.75 oz Homemade cinnamon syrup Several dashes Fee Foam @feebrothersofficial Shake with ice and strain over fresh ice. I used a large clear cube from @pdxice and garnished with a Luxardo cherry. Have a Happy Thanksgiving! ✌🏼💘🥃 #bourbon #bourbondrinks #bourboncocktails #whiskeysour #clearice #cocktailcherries #cocktailglass #rocksglass #thanksgiving #thanksgivingcocktails #bestcocktails by @skigrrrl
Frozen Mule . . . If you enjoy the comforting kick of fresh ginger, give this one a try! Mom found this recipe for Frozen Moscow Mules in one of her magazines. Over the summer, we mixed it up with vodka per the original specs and it was fantastic. I couldn’t stop thinking about trying it with dark rum, so I gave it a shot and I think it’s even better. 0.5 cup Muscovado sugar 1 Tbsp + 2 tsp Finely grated fresh ginger 0.5 cup Boiling water 8 oz Dark rum (or vodka) 6 oz Fresh squeezed lime juice Generous pinch of salt Dissolve the sugar in the boiling water and stir in the ginger. Let it cool a bit, then mix in the remainder of ingredients. I poured it all into a large ziplock baggie and placed it in the freezer overnight. Blend half the frozen slush with 2 cups ice for two servings. Garnish with a lime wheel and suck it down with a straw. It was my first time using muscovado sugar, a type of unrefined cane sugar that contains natural molasses. I thought the sugar might be too bold in flavor, but it worked like magic in this mix. For a frozen cocktail, it sure is warming, packed with flavor, and not too sweet. 😋 ✌🏽💘🥃 #frozencocktails #moscowmule #darkrum #rum #rumdrinks #rumcocktails #freshginger #muscovadosugar #blendeddrinks #deliciousdrinks #epicurious #bonappetitmag by @skigrrrl
Sweater Weather Sour . . . Autumn is just a few days away, but after a quick stop at the apple farm, I’m already feeling the fall vibes. What’s better than a little bourbon apple combination to kick things off? How about butter fat-washed bourbon and farm fresh apple cider, with a kick of cinnamon syrup and a lip-puckering punch of lemon! 2 oz Butter Washed Bourbon 1.5 oz Farm Fresh Apple Cider 1 oz Fresh Squeezed Lemon Juice 0.5 oz Homemade Cinnamon Syrup Shake with ice and strain over fresh ice into a glass. I garnished with an apple slice flower and a cinnamon stick. For the wash, I melted one stick of @danishcreamery butter in a saucepan over medium-low heat, stirring, until it started to smell nutty, about three minutes. Then I poured it into a jar with 12 ounces @cedarridgeiowa Barrel Proof Bourbon and whisked it all together. This went into the freezer for about 24 hours, then I strained it through a coffee filter. It tastes rich, has a silky mouthfeel and is most definitely a fun way to experiment with bourbon. Shout out to @oregonheritagefarms for the best fresh apple cider around! ✌🏽💘🥃 #NationalBourbonHeritageMonth #FatWashedCocktail #higherinbutterfat #butterisbetter #bourboncocktails #whiskeysour #applecider #homemade #cinnamon #simplesyrup #applegarnish #barrelproof #bourbon #fallisintheair by @skigrrrl
