How we did this ↓

This beautiful client came to me last November to book a consultation because she was really struggling with persistent acne, painful breakouts, redness, irritation and post-acne marks.

After analyzing her skin and existing routines, we simplified. I created a personalized AM + PM routine within her budget using gentle formulations and science-backed ingredients chosen specifically for her skin and concerns.

Around 2 months in, she started seeing a significant difference in her acne and now, about 9 months later, this is her skin 🥹

I’m SO proud of her. She stayed consistent, trusted the process and gave her skin the time it needed. Perfect skin was never the goal, healthy, supported skin was.🤍

It all started when I was 9.
Tiny texture bumps turned into painful, inflamed acne that took over my face, chest, and back- and my life.

I tried everything on the shelves. Nothing worked. And the comments at school? Brutal.
From “pizza face” to worse... (you know who you are.)
I missed school. I cried in front of mirrors. I would wake up, try to cover it with makeup, realize it wasn’t enough, cry it all off and stay in bed for the rest of the day.

I was 9.

I felt out of place at my dance competitions because I was the only one who had to cover my body acne with foundation in our costumes but, at least I was surrounded by the best people there and that helped a lot.

Eventually, I tried Accutane for 5 months. It helped so much- until my acne came back (this time not as bad, but still painful).
And this time, I refused to give up.

I learned everything I could about skin.
I studied ingredient science, formulation, skin biology, skin types, barrier repair- everything.
I earned my certification and stayed up until 4am reading ingredient dictionaries.

And slowly… my skin healed.
Not because of miracle products- but because I learned to support my skin instead of hating and punishing it.
No more harsh routines. No more fragrance overload. No more blaming myself.

My acne was genetic and hormonal- not caused by dirt, food, or laziness. Acne was never my fault, and it’s not your fault either. 🤍

Now, I share everything I learned so no one has to feel as lost as I did. Whether you have 3 pimples or years of cystic acne- you deserve education, support, and compassion, not shame.

I became the person I needed when I was 9.
And if you need someone on your journey, I’m here. Always. 🫶

Your skin does not define you.
Your acne is not your identity.
Healing is possible- emotionally and physically- and you deserve both.

To anyone struggling right now:
You’re strong. You’re beautiful. And you’re not alone.
You'll get there I promise.

Or if you hate breaking out from your spf☀️

The @ultravioletteau Fave Fluid SPF50+ Ultralight Screen feels like a toner on my skin which I LOVE because most sunscreens can feel heavy or almost 'dirty' on my skin.

It’s also incredibly lightweight, which I love as someone with acne-prone skin who tends to struggle with thicker SPF textures. It feels breathable on my skin and leaves the prettiest dewy finish without feeling oily or heavy.

I also think this would be SO beautiful underneath makeup because of how hydrated and glowy it leaves my skin. If sunscreen textures are a sensory issue for you, or you usually hate the feeling of SPF sitting on your face, this is definitely one I’d check out.

They also make a spray version and I’m dying to try that one next 👀☀️ by @skin.su

I’ve spent so many years working on my skin, and somewhere along the way, skincare stopped feeling like something I was doing to “fix” myself.

My skin still isn’t 100% clear all the time but when I do my routine now, it feels completely different. I’m not looking at everything I want to change. I’m thinking about how I can support my skin, understand it, and give it the ingredients, time, patience and grace it deserves.

I think I eventually realized that my skin is a part of me, and I can’t learn to be kind to myself while continuing to be unkind to my skin.

So now skincare feels less like fixing something that’s wrong with me and more like caring for a part of myself.

This is what I’d buy👇🏼

If there’s one step I’m willing to spend a little more on, it’s a good cleanser. Cleansing sets the foundation for the rest of your routine. You want to gently remove dirt, sweat, oil and leftover debris without stripping your skin of its natural oils.

The @dr.idriss Soft Wash does exactly that + can remove light makeup and SPF, so you don’t necessarily need to double cleanse unless you’re wearing heavier makeup. It’s gentle, effective and formulated with the essentials without a bunch of unnecessary extras. Dr. Idriss is also someone I have so much respect for and genuinely trust when it comes to skin education + formulation🤍 @shereeneidriss

Since we splurged on the cleanser, I kept the rest affordable with @goodmolecules . Their Hyaluronic Acid Serum adds simple, lightweight hydration, and their Lightweight Daily Moisturizer seals everything in without feeling heavy.

Three simple steps, no complicated routine. Just gentle, effective skincare for under $50. 🎀

Confused about what skincare to buy or what ingredients to look for? Comment “SKIN” and I’ll send you my simple skincare ingredient guide + where you can find all of my product recommendations 🤍 by @skin.su

acne is not gross. acne is not ugly. acne is not unhygienic.🎀

Growing up, I had people around me who made me feel like my acne was something gross or unhygienic, and those comments stayed with me for a long time.

The reality is, acne is incredibly normal. It isn’t contagious, it isn’t a reflection of how clean you are, and it certainly doesn’t make you any less beautiful.
But knowing that and feeling that can be two very different things, especially in a world filled with unrealistic beauty standards and social media constantly showing us “perfect” skin.

That’s why I love little things like these pimple patches so much. Instead of feeling like I need to hide a breakout, I can put little hearts and flowers all over my spots and bring some positivity, joy and whimsy back into caring for my skin.

I’m still working on my fear of being judged by other people, but I’m also learning that the opinions of strangers don’t define how beautiful or worthy I am, acne or not.

So yes, they’re pimple patches but I also love what they represent: finding beauty in our spots and making acne care something that can hold a little more joy🩷

it's part of the experience 😭

If you use an oil-based cleanser or cleansing balm to remove your makeup (especially mascara), you probably know exactly what I’m talking about. Sometimes that oily film can make things look a little blurry for a moment, but it goes away as soon as I thoroughly rinse everything off!

No stinging, burning or irritation here, just the oil cleanser experience😆

Acne takes so much more from you than people realize.

People see the breakouts but, they don’t see the plans you cancel, the mirrors you avoid, the photos you delete, or how much energy it takes to convince yourself to leave the house on the hard days.

They don’t see the way a single new breakout can change your mood before your day has even started, or how exhausting it is to constantly think about your skin, hoping tomorrow will finally be the day it starts getting better.

For so many of us, acne was never only about our skin. It was about confidence, memories, and feeling comfortable enough to simply exist without thinking about our face every second.

If you’ve ever felt this way, I hope you know you’re not alone🤍 by @skin.su

People always ask me how to help their skin⬇️

Comment "how" and I’ll send you the exact beginner resources I wish I had when I started🔗✨

After struggling with acne for 14 years, I realized that almost every skincare question comes back to the same three things:

• Understanding your skin type
• Building a routine that actually matches your unique skin type (skincare is not a one size fits all). An effective routine has to be custom!
• Knowing what ingredients you’re putting on your face, what they're doing, and if they are even right for you.

Once those three pieces finally clicked for me, skincare stopped feeling overwhelming and started making sense.

It actually for once, really started working.

If you’re tired of guessing, buying products that don’t work, or feeling confused by all the conflicting advice online, comment "how" and I’ll send everything over- simplified🔗🫶🏼 by @skin.su
