💟 When I opened Skin Bar New York in 2017, I had a 7-month-old in my arms and had just found out I was pregnant again. Life was anything but easy. If you’ve been following me, you know my story. And if you haven’t—let’s just say I wasn’t in a healthy marriage and was fighting to create an escape plan while caring for two babies under two.

Skin Bar New York has always been more than a business—it’s been my freedom. A space where not only I, but my clients, could feel free. Free from judgment. Free from anxiety (even if only for an hour). Free from the self-criticism we all carry—especially as women. I built this place so people could walk in and leave as a better version of themselves, just as I was working to do for myself.

That’s why I’m obsessed with the science behind skincare—not the fads, not the hype, and definitely not the overpriced gimmicks that prey on insecurities. I’m tired of people being sold bullshit treatments that don’t even make scientific sense.

“I have sensitive skin, so I can’t use anything.”

I hear this ALL the time in the treatment room.

But here’s something I want you to know: there’s a big difference between sensitive skin and sensitized skin.

True sensitive skin is often an inherent characteristic of the skin.
Sensitized skin is something that happens when the skin barrier becomes compromised.

UV exposure, over-exfoliation, harsh products, improper skincare, environmental stressors, and even doing too much to your skin can disrupt that barrier.

And when the barrier is compromised?
Redness. Burning. Stinging. Tightness. Flaking. Breakouts. Reactivity.

So before you decide that your skin is simply “too sensitive” for treatments, let’s figure out WHY your skin is reacting.

I manifested a life better than I could have imagined. ✨

10 years ago, I knew I wanted to be a business owner. I could see the vision… but I could also hear every fear:

It’s going to cost too much.
How will I find the time?
What if I invest everything and nobody comes?
Who am I to actually do this?

Looking back now, I realize the biggest transformation wasn’t just building the business.

It was becoming the woman who believed she was capable of building it.

The last 10 years have brought growth, challenges, lessons, and an unexpected spiritual awakening that taught me to trust myself, release limiting beliefs, and finally feel confident in my own skin. Not just as a woman, but as a business owner.

The life I once questioned whether I could have… is now the life I get to live.

And that’s the magic of the vision.
You don’t always know how it’s going to happen. You just have to be willing to believe it’s possible before you can see the proof.

Controversial take: we don’t offer LED at Skin Bar. And yes, we know it works.

The question isn’t “Does LED work?”
It’s “Is an occasional in-clinic LED session the best use of your treatment time and investment?”

For us, the answer is no.

LED is a modality that shines with consistency which, is why we’d rather recommend a quality at-home device used regularly than add a few minutes of LED to a facial every 4 weeks and call it a treatment plan.

Our philosophy is simple: every treatment should have a purpose.

We prioritize modalities and protocols designed to create meaningful changes in skin function, collagen production, texture, tone and overall skin health… not just treatments that simply feel good in the moment.

Teaching has become one of the most rewarding parts of my career.

After years of working hands-on with advanced skin revision, modalities, protocols and the business of esthetics, I’ve had the opportunity to take that knowledge beyond my own treatment room. Getting to train estheticians and professionals in person, hands-on, out of state, and virtually.

It’s about the women who sit in my treatment room and the stories they bring with them.

Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of witnessing seasons of growth, transformation, celebration, heartbreak, new beginnings, motherhood, career changes and everything in between.

What begins as a skincare appointment often becomes something much more meaningful: a trusted space to slow down, reconnect, feel cared for, and simply be yourself.
