A prelude to an upcoming SKINT article.
‘There has been a blue collar cultural shift within the last decade or so. Our art, culture and even fashion has radically changed to emulate the lives of the working class. Visit any £8 a pint pub in east London and half the clientele are decked in Burberry and dickies. With cultural phenomena comes detriment. The necessity for workwear has increased for its aestheticism and what it represents while hiking the prices for the people who genuinely need it. Fashion continues to sell an illusion, sometimes that illusion is that your private school friend has seen the inside of a working class environment and I promise you, Nathanial from Surrey has not.’ by @skint_mag
