Hi my Name is Skiyodu 🍭👘 ~’’• and a Few Days Ago I very Excitedly Received a #gifted Package from Moco Queen (@moco_queen) who kindly sent me my very First Pairs of Contact Lenses - ❤️‍🔥👁️🌈💎🪷🎪 !¡!

They reached out and offered to send me Three - 3️⃣🧑‍🧑‍🧒 - different Pairs for Review, with the delightful Mission of elevating my already wonderfully Maximalist Wardrobe into something even more Theatrical, Colourful, and Delightfully surreal - 🩷💚💙💜💛 !¡!

Across this video, I am wearing three distinct outfits, each assembled to reflect the atmosphere, colour palette, and personality of the contact lenses themselves. From an Afghan-inspired interpretation of a magical girl for the pink lenses, to a delightfully dishevelled travelling circus glamour for the second look, before concluding with a quintessentially “Skiyodu” operatic frenzy for the third, I wanted each ensemble to possess its own visual language whilst remaining recognisably my own.

In constructing these looks, I drew together handmade accessories, antiques, and garments influenced by Indian, Japanese, German, Filipino, and Afghan traditions, challenging myself to achieve as much variety in my styling as possible throughout this collaboration. Some of my favourite details emerged through improvisation: transforming ankle bracelets into hair ornaments, repurposing broken jewellery into components for headpieces, and allowing older accessories to find entirely new functions. It became a thoroughly enjoyable exercise in creative problem-solving, demonstrating how even the smallest objects can acquire a second life through a little experimentation and a handful of safety pins.

Remember to use my affiliate code “skiyodu” (all lowercase) at checkout for 10% OFF your next order. You can find the Moco Queen website via the LinkTree in my bio, or visit https://mocoqueen.com directly || 🥟🧿🦋👘💿🦄 !¡!

And do let me know … which Look is your Favourite ?! I think My Favourite is the First One - 🍜🌺🦚🌈💎 !¡!

🗺️🌈🪙🪇 - My First Look for “Plenitude: A Public Good” - ( @plenitude.apg ) ~’’• 🏮🏵️💎🪅🦚🎏🎎🪭 !¡!

This Was The First Look I Styled For My Artist Talk And Performance At Our Collective Exhibition At The Swan On The 24th Of April, 2026 - 🥻🌅.

This look marked as a grand expansion upon both my penultimate ensemble from my first solo exhibition, “In Bloom”, as well as the look I wore for the March London Colour Walk (@london.colour.walk).

I had become deeply infatuated with this extraordinary dress, a garment most commonly associated with Pashtun communities across Afghanistan and Pakistan. I am particularly drawn to its rich blue velvet, its patchwork of plush jewel-toned squares, and its intricate embroidery, all of which possess a remarkable sense of ornamentation and history.

With this look, I wanted to synthesise many of my enduring fascinations: my admiration for Raja Gemini, the visceral beauty of Ishoku Hada-inspired body modification aesthetics, the theatrical grandeur of Kathakali, Farewell My Concubine, and a litany of other visual references that continue to inform my practice. The ensemble was completed, rather cheekily, with a distinctly British ring shaped like a pair of lips.

Stay Tuned For More Photographs From The Event. Including Documentation Of Participatory Artworks, An Impressive Umbrella Collection, And A Dress So Vast It Occupies An Entire Room ~’’• ☂️🌈👒👗👹 !¡!

How I Love an Autumn Day || 🌰🧡☕️🌻🎃 !¡!

I have spoken about the influence behind my face paint here before, but I think it is worth returning to. Having recently acquired a new metallic face-painting kit, I found myself wanting to move beyond my more familiar painted face and experiment with something rather more interpretive. For this look, I drew particular inspiration from Fauvism, and especially from Henri Matisse, whose work I have admired for a long time, from his earlier portraits through to his later cut-outs. I have always been particularly taken with the heavy black contours he sometimes used to define and emphasise facial features, so I translated that idea onto my own face by outlining my nose and lips in black. The rest of the Look was built around my rather trusty Indian garlands, worn through my hair, alongside an Afghan dress, a mixture of Indian and Afghan necklaces, and an assortment of beads of a decidedly more secular variety.

A collision of colour, neon and attitude.

@skiyodu moves through colour effortlessly, while the neon lights of @neonnakedlifedrawing set the stage and gave me plenty of room to play.

Different colours, different influences, different worlds — all meeting in the same frame.

The colours don't sit still. They clash, mix, bleed and eventually find their own balance. by @skiyodu

This Photograph was Taken Essentially Two Years Ago Now 2️⃣📗🕰️ - How Very Swiftly Time Flies. It captures a Rather Chilly Day spent in the Company of my Dear Stephanie || 💐🪎🥂❤️‍🔥 - ( @stephaniecheng_photography ) ~’’• Although, judging by this Rather Summery - 🌞⛅️🌅 - a Attire, one might scarcely have guessed that the Temperature was quite so Unforgiving || ❄️🍦⛄️ !¡!

I recall having rather different tastes back then. Of course, I have always possessed a fondness for colour, but looking back, it does rather alarm me, whilst simultaneously reminding me of the privilege I have in being able to continually alter my wardrobe and shift between such disparate sartorial points of reference.

This particular Look nevertheless remains a source of considerable pride, not least because I made both the bralette and the skirt myself, constructing them entirely from secondhand materials and toys which I had disassembled and repurposed. If you look closely, you may also notice that I made my own false nails for the occasion. And, of course, how could I possibly forget that Rather Lovely hair accessory?

It was a particularly fond period of my life, when I had comparatively little concern for the longevity of my clothes. These pieces were, after all, assembled from rather precarious scraps and materials, and consequently did not withstand the passage of time especially well. Nevertheless, there is something rather endearing about revisiting a Look whose impermanence was almost intrinsic to its construction.

Good Morning Everyone ~’’• I have Been enjoying Lovely Days in Yorkshire, as Per Usual, whenever I return to Visit my Wonderful Family and Friends || 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🌹🇵🇭🪷🌏 !¡!

From Wandering through the Grounds of Newby Hall, to Strolling along Sutton Bank, to Enjoying a Glass of Still Scrumpy Cider in the Summer Sunshine - I am reminded that Life is often at its Best when it is composed of these smaller Pleasures - 🌳🏡🍎🌞🌿 !¡!

I can often be overly critical of my own outfits, though not of my physical appearance. Rather, I find myself scrutinising the way I style myself, ruminating on a litany of largely unproductive questions:
“Do these colours work together?”
“Should I have altered the dress?”
“Are these earrings appropriate for the look?”
Yet, after a few months, or sometimes nearly a year, those petty concerns tend to dissipate, and I return to what first drew me to fashion: joy, vitality, and beauty.

I have a recurring fascination with Afghan dress, and this particular garment is associated with the Pashtun people, an ethnolinguistic group native to Afghanistan and north-western Pakistan, renowned for their rich textile traditions, embroidery, and distinctive regional forms of dress. I must confess that I have accumulated rather more of these garments than is strictly necessary, and I have many more to share when I return to London in September. Then again, we all have our obsessions, do we not?

Here are some Beautiful Photographs from September 2025, taken by the Wonderful Jim Hoe ( @hoe.jim ) during the London Colour Walk ( @london.colour.walk ) at Old Spitalfields Market ( @oldspitalfieldsmarket ) - ❤️‍🔥🌞🏮💎 !¡! Looking back, I remain especially Fond of this Ensemble - not least because of my Lovely Matching Silk Bags adorned with Krishna - 🕉️🪈🩵🌸🍃 …

Alas, I shall Be Off Now !¡! There is something rather Restorative about Yorkshire in the Summer. The Long Views, the Rolling Countryside, the Familiar Faces, and the Opportunity to briefly step away from the delightful Chaos of Everyday Life. What Joys there are to be found in such Kind Things ~’’• 🌈🦚💎🌻🍀🪻 !¡!

More Joy unfolds 🌞🦄🎎 - I wanted to Share these Beautiful Images from Dear Luci ( @luciisafrog ) during a Photoshoot for the Second - 🥈🏫 - Look I brought To Undersketch Soho ( @undersketchsoho ), alongside a Preceding Outfit I had worn at the Inaugural Event of Plenitude A.P.G ( @plenitude.apg ) - this is Perhaps my FAVOURITE Outfit that I have Crafted thus Far ~’’• 🌍🧷🪷🕉️🌈🧵 !¡!

Learning a handful of simple sari drapes has transformed my approach to dress. I vividly recall attending a workshop led by Nidhi Uppal (@nidhi.uppal70) at Pitzhanger Museum & Gallery, where she demonstrated not only more conventional methods of draping a sari, but also the remarkable potential of the garment as a layering device capable of interacting with entirely different forms of dress. That workshop has remained with me ever since, and I find myself returning to those techniques with increasing frequency!

For this life-drawing session I needed to pack two complete outfits. Rather than carrying an additional dress, tights, and various undergarments, Hayley (@hayleymdevans) and I decided upon a different approach. We packed four lengths of fabric instead: two vibrant Ankara textiles that I had purchased in Deptford, together with two saris in shades of pink and red. With only a handful of safety pins, a little folding, and some improvised draping, the fabrics became an entirely new ensemble, complete with a generously sized train. In keeping with the distinctly Indian inflection of this ensemble, I also wore three floral garlands that I purchased in Southall, together with two sets of beautiful kalire that had been generously gifted to me.

There is a peculiar Calm before the Room fills with Conversation, Sketchbooks, Easels, and the gentle anticipation of an Evening spent making Art. It is one of the few opportunities to see an Outfit in complete stillness before it begins to gather new Stories through Movement and Observation. I remain enormously Fond of these Photographs for preserving that fleeting Moment ~’’• 🐸🌹🎨🎪🦚.

I Had Four Months Away From THE @london.colour.walk ~’’• Can You Believe It - ❤️🧡💛💚🩵💙💜 !¡!

On Thursday I finally Stepped back out at @oldspitalfields in Full Glam and ALL of my Regalia - 🪭💎👑. It felt SO Good to be Wrapped in colour again, Walking, Twirling, just Existing in all that Joy - 👰🏻‍♀️💚🪭🌈🥻 !¡!

I wanted to reinterpret the traditional Bridal silhouette of veil, dress, and train through my own styling and artistic perspective within the language of DECOFOLK. For this look, I looked closely at Bhakti performers embodying Radha and Krishna, the refined expressivity of Legong from Bali, the heightened theatricality of Kathakali, and the Gelena tradition practised by the Pokal community in Bulgaria. Drawing from these devotional and performative lineages, I sought to balance ornament with intention. I felt so profoundly regal in the process and paid careful attention to every detail, treating each element as part of a larger ceremonial composition.

All of these Photos were Taken by the wonderful John Barter - 📸💕 !¡! As well, with permission these were Edited by Me - 💻🎨💎 !¡! Thank you to Everyone who Took pictures of me and Offered me such Kind words || 🌍🪻👘🦚 !¡!
