Extensions Dance is a premier youth dance studio in the Chicagoland area, inspiring the next generation through exceptional training, artistry, and community.

Our alumni have continued their training at some of the nation’s top universities and conservatories, including Juilliard, USC, the University of Arizona, Chapman University, NYU Tisch, and more. Many have gone on to perform with professional dance companies around the world.

Serving young artists ages 2.5–18, Extensions Dance welcomes artists and movers of all types. We celebrate each dancer’s individuality, nurture their creativity, and help them build confidence in the studio, onstage, and beyond.

From their very first steps to pursuing a professional future, every dancer has a place to grow, connect, and shine at Extensions.

✨When I was in my early 20s, I used to walk past Charlie Trotter’s and look at it longingly, hoping that one day I’d get to go inside for dinner. At the time, the closest I could get was Charlie Trotter’s To Go on Diversey, so I became a regular there — happily taking what I could get/afford at the time.

✨When the restaurant closed in 2012, I thought my chance had passed. I’d never get to experience the iconic Chicago institution I had admired for so long. Then last year, Jimmy “tricked” me with a meticulously planned and flawlessly executed engagement. He used the Charlie Trotter’s pop-up featuring Grant Achatz as the decoy, convincing me that was where we were headed that night — because he knew it was the only way he’d get an immediate, unquestioned “yes.” While it became one of the best nights of my life, there was still a part of me that felt wistful that I hadn’t actually stepped inside the original space.

✨But this past weekend — for my birthday — that dream finally came true. Jimmy secured a reservation for the “Nashville In The North” Menu with Chefs Trevor Moran, Sam Jett, Josh Habiger, and Erik Anderson — and it exceeded every expectation. The wine pairing was out of this world and Dylan Trotter was the perfect and most gracious host.

✨After dinner, Jimmy — knowing how much I love live art — had one more surprise up his sleeve. He took me to see the Metropolis String Quartet play by candlelight at Stan Mansion, and my mind was officially blown.
The music with the glow of the candles…perfection.

✨What a night. So dreamy. So thoughtful and so perfectly us. A perfect start to my birthday week✨

2024 was a pretty good year…. but for 2025 less obligation and more meaningful connections is the vibe. Gatherings and quality time that involve laughter, honest friendship and mutual respect. Life is too short to mess with anything else and we never know what the turn of a page will bring. May God bless everyone I know with as many meaningful connections as their hearts can hold in 2025…. oh and espresso martinis… lots of espresso martinis🍸 by @skizziemack

He’s been holding me up, looking out for me, catching me, throwing and spinning me around and being a quiet yet powerful cheerleader behind me for as long as I can remember and it’s his birthday today. Tonight I got to celebrate with him (in the same city, on a special occasion…unheard of) and it was an emotional reminiscing among the group. We reminisced on so many memorable moments on stage together and largely those with the @csomusicians and I found myself particularly emotional when we started talking about that time @harryrmac “casually” called me to let me know Jeremy had broken his neck cliff diving, which would lead to the founding and name of his company “C5 Entertainment”. Of course he somehow came out of that barely “scathed” (aside from a big scar and a blue neck brace he hated 😜) and in true @jeremyplummerc5 fashion he made lemonade out of the ultimate lemons. You know, you start to get older and you really realize how truly fast time goes and how blessed you have been for the people who are your long term friends, your chosen family and your people but also for what you have been through together. And suddenly you look around and think “how are these my people”, “Why am I so lucky” and you know instantly that it is by the grace of God that you are still here together… creating art together, passing torches to the next generation and just generally feeling grateful to still be doing what you love to do and to be ALIVE. Jeremy my life would be sooooo different without you. You are my dance partner, my dear friend, my brother, my family. I love you forever and I can’t say I ever have or ever will have another relationship like ours, and what a true blessing it is and has been. Cheers to you, my dear friend and cheers to many more celebrations and blessings together. Happy birthday 🤍🥂⭐️ by @skizziemack
