Allt, jämt, video of our previous exhibition w. Karin Blomgren and Astrid Sleire. Karin has presented a work that included an architectural conception with sound and movement.

The artists recognize a shared interest when observing, looking at art and the world around them, as if searching in the same places.

The question is posed: What are you looking at? It could be a color, a space, or a construction.

Their gaze often stops at something that is built, assembled from parts, something that might be called architectural. They are intrigued by the pursuit of a process leading to a tension just before an imminent collapse. The moment right before it breaks, topples, or dissolves. Both practices involve experimentation, a movement in the form and/or installation towards something precarious, a balancing act where the construction holds while also expressing something immediate.

The Exhibition is supported by the Arts Council Norway (Kulturrådet).

Last week of «The Narrative Disrupts Abstraction»
Exhibition brings together two distinct yet complementary artistic voices: Irma Salo Jæger’s dynamic, color-driven abstractions and Madelon Verbeek’s deeply personal, narrative-based explorations.
Both artists engage with the world around them — Salo Jæger through the language of color and form, and Verbeek through storytelling infused with political and social reflections.
Their works, spanning different generations and artistic approaches, invite the viewer into a conversation about perception, memory, and belonging.

Last week of Li’s exhibition.
In Fractal Moments, Aron Irving Li explores how repetition and small individual elements can create complex, organic forms inspired by nature. Using brass and copper, he hand-solders hundreds of elements to build delicate structures resembling plants, branches and natural growth patterns. The works balance between strength and fragility, reflecting nature’s life force, movement and constant cycles of growth and decay.

Liu Hsing-Yu presents by SKOG x Vasli Souza during Oslo Negativ Fotofestival 2026.

In Liu Hsing-Yu’s photographs, the familiar becomes a place of quiet observation and subtle transformation. Working with the intimacy of everyday life, she explores relationships, family, memory and the emotional spaces that exist between people.
Her images often carry a sense of stillness, but beneath their calm surfaces there is a tension between what is visible and what remains unspoken. Through carefully considered compositions and a sensitive approach to the people and spaces she photographs, Liu creates moments that feel both personal and strangely universal.
There is a poetic ambiguity in her work, where tenderness can exist alongside distance, and the ordinary can take on a sense of mystery. Rather than explaining relationships, Liu invites us to linger within them, to notice small gestures, shifting emotions and the complex ways in which closeness can be experienced.

Amazing two weeks, and now we’re heading into the final weekend! We’re so happy to have Pixy Liao visiting us this weekend.

A special collaboration between Rasmus & Brian, resulting in SKOG × Vasli Souza presenting the work of photographers Pixy Liao and Liu Hsing-Yu.
Through playful, unconventional perspectives, they explore love, intimacy, and relationships, challenging the familiar through humour, role reversal, and staged moments.

A big thank you to the Møller Collection for your contribution in lending “ Open Kimono” photo by Pixie and Oslo Negativ Photo Festival for making this festival possible.

During Oslo Negativ Photo Festival 2026 SKOG x Vasli Souza presents Pixy Liao and Liu Hsing-Yu.

Pixy Liao’s Experimental Relationship is an ongoing art project that explores gender roles, power dynamics, and cultural expectations through staged photographs and performances with her Japanese boyfriend, Moro. Since 2007, she has challenged traditional ideas about relationships by reversing gender roles and questioning who holds power and makes decisions. Overall, the project uses humor and creativity to question social norms and explore how love and relationships evolve over time.

Yellow Press by Tamara Marbl Joka, currently on view at SKOG.

The term “yellow press”, meaning sensationalist journalism, emerged in the late 19th century. Newspapers began competing for readers with large headlines, dramatic stories and often uncritical use of sources. At the same time, technological changes in the printing industry made newspaper production cheaper and faster.
An important link to aluminium lies in printing technology. Aluminium came to be widely used for printing plates, especially in offset printing, because the metal is light, durable and suited to fast mass production. This made it possible to print large runs of newspapers quickly and at lower cost.

As newspapers became cheaper and easier to produce, competition for readers grew. This contributed indirectly to the rise of the yellow press, as some newspapers chose more sensational and eye-catching stories to sell more copies. In this way, technological development in aluminium and the development of sensationalist journalism are bound together.

Although the emerged in the late 19th century, many of the same mechanisms remain clearly visible in today’s media landscape.

Laurensius Celvi anus Petri by Oscar Eriksson Furunes, currently on view until 7th November.

There is something valuable when looking into the past, the instant that just vanished or a period very far away, and how we tie it to the present. The stones before you are originals from Nidaros Cathedral (constructed between 1070–1300 and restored several times afterward). In 2019, artist Oscar Eriksson Furunes acquired the first of these stones while studying at the Malmö Art Academy. Working with historically charged artifacts will become a constant in his methodology, whether they come from more recent times, like perfume lamps from the 1920s as part of the work Night Watch, or from the medieval era, like these stones. As he says himself, “he reinterprets historical materials into installations in which he incorporates personal references, gestures, and codes [...].”[1] In the case of these stones, Furunes’s personal link with the cathedral coexists (he was baptized there) with this building’s historical weight in Norwegian heritage.

The starting point of this series is a Latin inscription present in the walls of the cathedral. Carved in the stone, the phrase reads “Laurensius Celvi anus Petri.” Archaeologists date the inscription to the late 13th century. The phrase can be translated as “Lars is Peter’s arse.” So, who were these men? The first name, Lars, refers to Laurentius Kálfsson (1267–1331), an Icelandic bishop of the diocese of Hólar. $Currently exhibition “Fractal Moments” by Aron Irving Li. In the exhibition Fractal Moments, Aron Irving Li explores fractal principles and repeating form. Through systematic processes, he constructs metal objects that reference the plant world. A fractal is a geometric form whose structure reproduces itself at different scales. A single element, observed on its own, looks like the original figure as a whole. Many phenomena in nature have fractal traits, such as the geometric structure of a tree, or the blood vessels and nerve pathways of the human body. Li approaches the fractal through hands-on investigation. He explores how form can be built from many small individual elements, and how repetition as a method gives rise to dynamic expression. Made in brass and copper, the objects appear as complex, fragile structures with a pronounced organic character. Li solders together hundreds of wire-based elements. This creates a kind of growth process within the construction itself, as each object is gradually built up piece by piece. The process allows the objects to be extended and developed continuously over time. Some works balance at the very limit of the material’s stability, so that the slightest movement travels through the work like a tremor. That movement gives a sense of something living, fragile and transient. Recurring in several works is the simple principle of branching. It is a form found in many natural structures, and for Li it refers to nature’s life force and cycles. ___ Thanks for kindly support to Artd Council Norway @kulturradet @oslo.kommune Photo J. Last weekend of RYESTACK a dúo exhibition w. Sisse Lee and Martin B. Kaldahl.

Martin Kaldahl’s work, form is fundamentally sculptural, materially driven, and precisely articulated. It may initially appear expressive, shaped by the impressions of the hand and the transformations of the ceramic process, but is in fact built through conceptual constraints and self-organising procedures rather than personal expression. The works in this exhibition are made through building, stacking and displacing, as individual elements are assembled into sculptural, sequential structures. Glaze unifies the surface as an integral part of the construction, while pressure marks, joints and irregularities remain visible.
