Holy hikemaxing

We hiked for 10 straight hours in pouring rain. By the time it turned to snow, our gear was soaked, we were freezing, and we knew it was time to turn around.

Definitely not the trip we had planned and wasn’t how we pictured it going but some things are out of our control, and Mother Nature is one of them.

The next few days ended up being some of the best anyway. Hiking, fishing, campfires, hot springs, and quality time with family and friends.

There’s something about being in the mountains that puts everything back into perspective. They remind us that your worth isn’t measured by how much you achieve, how much you own, or how closely you follow someone else’s path. The things that seemed so important before don’t feel quite as heavy.

Maybe that’s why I keep coming back. Out here, life just feels a little simpler. taken in Idaho by @skoumalbryce
