I turned 41 yesterday.

There’s something bittersweet about birthdays in your forties. On one hand, I still feel young and beautiful and feel that there are so many things ahead of me. And I still don’t know what I want to do when I grow up 🙃 On the other hand, I see the lines of wisdom (yes, that’s what we say instead of wrinkles 😏) and silver lining in my hear that only time can give.

We live in the world of endless possibilities, breaking rules and defying the odds. And yet, the world keeps whispering rules about how a woman “should” look, especially after a certain age: be slim, always look young, hide grey hair, don’t wear short skirts, don’t express the opinion that is not comfortable to others 🤫

I am learning not to listen anymore. Believe in myself. Feel free to choose how I live, what I wear and what I want to celebrate about myself. Not fitting into someone else’s box.

Here’s to embracing every year, every chapter, every outfit that makes us feel alive. Because style has no age. And neither does joy. 💕 by @skrynsve

Thank you, Portugal!
It was a colourful and exciting trip.
Sometimes rainy, sometimes cold, sometimes too hot, but we enjoyed every day of it.

Paris photo dump 📸

8.45 train Brussels-Paris
11h - Yves Saint Laurent museum (tickets sold out! Luckily we bought tickets two weeks in advance);
Stroll along the Seine trying to catch a good view for a shot with the Eiffel tower (it was a grey day with no sun to be seen, so pictures are not so great 🙄);
13h - Museum of decorative arts. Unfortunately the fashion, design and jewellery exhibition that we initially bought tickets to was closed for technical reasons. It’s a pity as it should have been an amazing one! Nevertheless, time well spent - permanent decorative design exhibition is also worth visiting;
15.30 lunch at Ritz hotel 🍔🤑 If you are not ready to spend 2K for the night in Ritz (we were not!) but would like to get inside (we wanted to!) and maybe meet some celebrities (we didn’t 😅), you have several options, that include expensive food or drinks 😄 Initially we planned to visit a tea ceremony in a cozy Salon Proust, but it was all booked out (yes, reservation is a must!). We ended up booking a table for lunch at Bar Vendõme and didn’t regret it (also lunch was a better idea than tea with desserts, considering our busy schedule).
Don’t forget to check out bathrooms - swan-shaped taps will bring your understanding of a luxury to another level 😅
Short Uber ride and we are at Cirque d’Hiver for our main event: presentation of spring/summer 2025 ready-to-wear collection by Juozas Statkevicius, Lithuanian fashion and theatre costume designer.
Glass (or two 🥂) of champagne after the show and evening train back to Brussels. 🚝 taken in Paris, France by @skrynsve

What I was wearing this summer and what lessons did I learn 👗

As holiday season is going to the end, I thought it would be a good idea to do a recap of my best (in my opinion 🤭) summer outfits and share my thoughts about what worked for me and what didn’t this summer 👌

- Insight nr 1: dresses are less practical than separate pieces (skirt + top) as they have a limited styling potential. Some summer dresses can be worn only as they are, while you can combine skirt with different tops, T-shirts, blouses and shirts and get a new outfit every time. Not saying no to dresses in general, but it will certainly not be my priority investment next summer (in fact, I did not buy any summer dresses this year either 🤭);
- Insight nr 2: I can totally survive with twice less clothes than I pack. Not sure I will ever learn this lesson though 🤣 Girls will be girls 🥳
- Insight nr 3: silk scarfs can scale up any outfit! I am sure you all have scarfs you once bought but never worn. Tie it on your bag, your shorts, your wrist, your hair.. They take so little space but can make your summer outfits brighter and more interesting 👌
- Insight nr 4: it’s easier to survive the heat if you cover your skin. That’s a revelation for someone coming from Lithuania 🤣🤣🤣 I always thought that the hotter it gets - the less clothes you have to put on yourself 🫣 Nope, when it’s 40+ degrees outside, long-sleeved linen shirt and trousers will work much better than shorts and open tops.

What would be my investment in next year’s summer wardrobe? Nice bermuda shorts, linen shirts and good quality maxi satin skirts 👌
