Join us for a Greater Groove x @girlz_nelson send off party for the one and only @skydog.world as she moves to Victoria in a month. Sky Dog has been a staple of the Nelson underground scene, both on her own as a solo producer/dj and as a founder of the GIRLZ crew, who’ve been throwing sick femme and queer centric parties and workshops over the last few years. But more than all she’s contributed to building the scene and making our bodies wiggle, Sky Dog has been a solid friend, kind heart, and dance floor comrade. We’ve been honoured to know her and have her play a number of our parties throughout the years, and we are going to miss her dearly. So come out and dance your heart out to celebrate the wonderful Sky Dog. We’ll have a b4b between @_dangerjane_ @quinnbucciol @skydog.world with @mochileromusic dropping in for a track or two from time to time. After the b4b, we’ll have a short political interlude where we’ll discuss the upcoming municipal and school board elections, with a potential surprise guest or two. To close the night, we’ll have the lovely @danielaaaa.mp3 and @laelaheidtmusic serenade us. Finally, we’re raising money for @laststandwestkootenay to support Elder @elderbilljones in getting to the Kootenays for an old growth rally on Sunday and his book talk on Monday. Swipe left for the posters for all other events, parking and address, and a cute shot of the girlz and mossy at our first heart2heart event in Jan. Hope to see you out there! 😘😘😘 by @skydog.world

Thank you to everyone who came out to our DJ workshop series in April. The passion and curiosity from everyone that attended was so inspiring, and we hope to keep creating more events to help support you on your DJ journeys 💕💿

We’re keeping it going with an Open Decks Night at the @nelsonlegion51 on May 29 from 7 to 10 PM. All skill levels are welcome. Practicing in front of people is one of the best ways to grow your confidence as a DJ, and this will be a very casual, low pressure space to play on club standard CDJs in front of friends and community.

Spots are limited, so sign up through the Google form in our link in bio ✨

Spring is springing 💐 and the GIRLZ are girling! 💅🏻 Time to shake off the winter blues 🥶 We are back to deliver another fabulous iteration of GIRLZ on APRIL 24th, featuring the GIRLZ resident DJs (@quinnbucciol, @_dangerjane_, @skydog.world) and our talented community trailblazer @emerencz on the 1’s and 2’s 💿 Come defrost and thaw out with us as we heat it up on the dance floor after a long and icy winter! ❄️ Enjoy a rainbow of flavours of house and techno, from acid to garage, tech to trance, and everything in between. 🌈

We’ll be going from 8pm-late, so there will be something for the early birds 🦢 and the night owls! 🦉

Tickets will be available ONLY via resident advisor, click the linktree 🔗 in our bio to get yours! We will have limited early tix for $20, hop on to save $$ and tell your friends! We have been known to sell out so don’t sleep on us!! 😴

19+ with bar service, bring your ID! Location will be revealed day of event 🍸

And most importantly, GIRLZ was created to celebrate the girlz, gayz, and theyz of our community 💐 This space was SPECIFICALLY created for those folks to feel safe, supported, and liberated. We will forever have 0 tolerance 🙅🏼‍♀️ for any behaviours that make anybody uncomfortable or unsafe. While we welcome everybody and anybody to our dance floor, be mindful of who this event was created for. It is NOT the place for any creepiness 🤡 and any nonconsensual behaviours will result in permanent banning from any GIRLZ events. ❌

Please leave the ticket-aid tier for folks that need the extra help. If you would like to support your community, please consider choosing an add-on to help support the ticket aid tier lost costs. 🎟️ Thank you 💕

We can’t wait to see you on the floor again 🪩 taken in Nelson, British Columbia by @skydog.world
