It is a privilege to fear equality

It is a privilege to protect your peace

It is a privilege to exist freely with no policing

It is a privilege to be ignorant of the problems of the world

Beyond anything, these past few months, having a front-row seat to genocide and oppression worldwide has shown me that many of you lack empathy and are stuck in your own comfort with the shitty ways of the world. Instead of holy bells, there are bombs. Instead of children's laughter, there are children's screams and tears. Instead of a life of work/play balance, there are overworked people covered in soot.

People are enslaved and worked to the bone. They don’t get to enjoy what it means to just purely exist because their existence is seen as either a threat or a way to make money.

I have not become desensitized to the videos shared across social media. As I watch children and adults alike screaming for freedom and safety, as I hear them cry for those they’ve lost, I watch as the hope fades from their eyes and their reality sets in. Around the world, there are multiple tragedies happening right in front of us.

I can’t imagine entering this world unknowingly and then leaving it only knowing pain and unfairness.

Free Palestine. Free Congo. Free Sudan. Free Haiti, Free Tigary. Free Hawaii. Free Gaza. Free everyone whose suffering from oppression and is being silenced. I see you. by @skyfigaro
