HAPAG at Balmori Suites. We tried the 8-course Cordillera-inspired menu. What a culinary adventure! After touring the restaurant and its kitchen, here are a few standout dishes: 1) duck broth with duck pinuneg on chicken skin tuille; 2) Etaglaw: etag ice cream with kinilaw & pork belly etag; 3) Pansit a la Pogi 😁 noodles with beef chorizo, liver, tongue with a thick sauce & house fermented shoyu; 4) the main course: a tour de force of cured & smoked beef tongue, pork longganisa, prawn pinuneg, green mountain salad and heirloom rice topped with shallots. OMOTESANDO in SALCEDO. Whenever it’s a grey and rainy morning, I try to step out for a bit to have coffee at our favorite neighborhood coffee shop. Here, there are no annoying law students with their laptops & voluminous books hogging tables for hours. I can read a few pages, unhurriedly, without distractions, while enjoying a good brew. by @skyhigh1006

Our office outing was in Botolan, Zambales, where we had to wake up at 4am, endure a 2 hour bumpy 4x4 ride and an hour long trek to the crater lake of Mt. Pinatubo. It was hot, dusty and a bit tiring. The reward is worth the effort and, as I like to say, miserable experiences make the best travel stories 😂 We stayed at Kalinto resort, which had comfortable new rooms, a nice pool, and a good wide beach. It was fun hanging out for happy hour, we had a bonfire the first night and a hilarious singing game last night. We are on the way back to Manila, but first: a mandatory Korean BBQ lunch at Subic! taken in Mt. Pinatubo Crater Lake, Botolan, Zambales by @skyhigh1006
