I haven’t been home in 28 days now but i’ve learned a lot of new things since being here at the nicu with bubby the whole time. I learned how to ride an electric bicycle but also realized i hadn’t been on a bike in 10+ years. I learned how expensive it is to stay at hotels. I learned how to use the public bus transit in the city, but hardly successfully. I have learned how much you have to eat and drink to effectively breastfeed and I’m learning more and more about breastfeeding successfully. I’ve learned how much I can enjoy the quiet and being alone, but also how deafening and sad it is to not being spending each day with my family. I’ve had every concoction of parent meals that the hospital provides and lots of coffee. Trevor found a cool cat cafe that we got to go to and I’ve made friends with bubbys nurses (they probably don’t know we’re friends, but that’s okay). I’ve learned to soak in everything around me and make the best of each of my days while i can because before I know it, everything will change again. by @skylar_beth_

my first baby boy 💙
you had to come earth side much sooner than we anticipated, but we’ve gotten to soak up extra time with you. we’re 24 days into our nicu stay and still have no sight for discharge, but you are growing and learning every single day. I’m so proud of everything little advancement you make and every obstacle you’re able to overcome. You’ve taught me that you really can never run out of love to share between your babies. I can’t wait for us to go home and for you to meet big sister who loves you so much already!! 💙 by @skylar_beth_

this is the one place i forgot to post, but as most people know since we posted on every other social media today 😂, trev & i are expecting a baby. this is by far the most “non-traditional” relationship i’ve ever had, but i have never been so grateful to have it. i’m so excited for this, yet so scared at the same time. i genuinely think you’re going to be a great dad, trev. & i’m so excited to take on the world w you & our little ❤️ by @skylar_beth_
