I think I’ll feel official once I have a snapdragon bloom 🤗

For the snap dragons I pinched most of the tops off so hopefully they’ll end up with 6-8 blooms instead of just 1 I did leave a few whole just to see the difference since it’s my first time planting them :)

& I think I will direct seed the next batch of cauliflower now that I have a little fence up to keep the chickens from running through that bed. They’re really not that destructive in the rest of the garden but this bed for some reason they thoroughly enjoy dipping for bugs in and trampling over plants 🐓

We’ll only know once we know ✨

And we’ll only get to know once we do. At least that’s what I’m telling myself because starting something from the literal ground up is scary. And I had this overwhelming feeling of what am I even doing, am I just wasting my time, how is it even gonna work. I really don’t know what I’m doing and as I keep going my plan keeps changing… but not my goal. All I gotta do is look at what the singular next step is. And remind myself that I want this project so bad so what does it even matter if I don’t know right this second how or if it’s gonna work I’m gonna know more and more for the rest of my life as I start to piece it together.

I want to build something that I don’t want to stop doing something that makes me so excited and proud and this day as I started to work on it I almost forgot that because I was overcome by not knowing what I’m doing (it was all these fckn rocks in this damn dirt that I kept finding more and more of as a dug and raked that set me off) and then I thought to myself, do you think anyone who did it for the first time really even knew what they were doing or did they just make it through that first time of not knowing to get to a second time of knowing a little more and a third of knowing even more and more and more.

And that eased me. by @skylerelkind

When I say we’ve been weeding I really mean her! The beds looks so beautiful now all thanks to my mama ❤️

And do you see my chickens?! I’ve been wanting chickens so bad (for egg laying, we have silkie chickens on the farm but they are simply for looks) and I was sad one day sitting in the garden beds and I look to my right and these two chickens where just sitting with me and now they come running from who knows where almost every morning to come say hi :)

Finally back in the garden & I thought it was only right to show you everything that’s growing in the garden after starting it at the end of May. I think I only have 3 of the very original plants that I started on Day 1 of starting my very first garden. Two tomatoes the Roma & Pink Heirloom, also the struggling cantaloupe. Everything else has been randomly added along the way. While it might not be living to its absolute full potential I am making this garden in a 4 hour work day and not even all of those hours can be spent on it so needless to say I am still extremely happy for how far it has come if you look back from Day 1.
