From a solidarity love story between hiphop and folk music comes Sky Spiders & the Imperceptible Web to haunt you with raging poetry, dreamy vocals and infectiously danceable apocalyptic beats. SkySpiders combine the styles and approaches of solo artists Kat Parent and SEE MORE PERSPECTIVE to embark on a musical journey through a lush, acapella acoustic electronica mashup of influences over a groovy boom bap foundation. See More’s (he/they) poetry and rap shimmer with fierce Xicane mysticism and nerdy joy. Kat Parent (they/she) bends old folk forms into subversive queer storytelling and juicy harmonies. Together, they are Sky Spiders and the Imperceptible Web, soaring the electronic airwaves with throbbing beats, eerie vocals and salient, heartfelt lyrics. by @skyspidersfly

SkySpiders and the Imperceptible Web’s ‘Slept Dawn’ EP overflows with salient, barbed poetry, audacious love, crashing and frothy frustration, and surrealist, action-packed dreams of liberation. The title track is a ceremonial bloodletting of ache; of making art in a landscape of extractive monopolies, and the challenge of being truly seen in a society that casts away those who could never fit inside cookie cutter expectations without losing a limb. The songs grew out of Chicano-Hip-Hop-artist See More Perspective and Folk-singer Kat Parent’s weekly electronic, live, online improvised sets through the first six months of the pandemic to an audience of thousands of isolated souls. Through those sessions, the duo mined a sound overflowing with tender poetry written in the days of a Minneapolis occupied by national guard tanks after police murdered George Floyd. The outcome is a searing, smoky, and ever growing pastiche of influences and approaches; driven by soulful bass that undulates through lightning cracked beats and haunted folk harmonies in the throes of joyous, radical defiance. Slept Dawn is a journey through feeling lost and alone, through rage and grief, letting go, and imagining utopian futures full of connection and dark, deep brilliance. by @skyspidersfly

SkySpiders will be performing to kick off Music in the Trees at Belwin Conservancy Saturday!

Pack a lunch, bring a blanket or camp chair, and settle in beneath the trees for an afternoon of live music in a beautiful outdoor setting. Rain or shine, so plan accordingly!

📅 August 16–17, 11am – 3pm (we’ll be on right at 11)
📍 Belwin Conservancy Education Site, Afton, MN
🎟️ Tickets are per car (pay what you can: $10, $20, or $35). Carpooling encouraged. Bicycles get in free.

The SkySpiders are taking to the trees in August. Belwin Conservancy on the 15th. A music festival in the most beautiful natural spaces. Artists perform 16 feet in the air.
