As a Coach you have Student Athletes that move on to the next level. Some of the Student Athletes have been with me for three years with some I have known longer than that through athletics and academics. You ask yourself over and over again, “have I ( coaching staff) prepared these kids for the next level?” Will they remember the things that we have taught them. Are they still having fun. Will they be too hard on themselves. Will they quit… Thursday was their first track meet of the year. They all medaled. So proud of the Freshman, I could hardly contain my emotions. I spoke to the parents and they have the siblings of my former students ready to run at my level. (Middle school) This is what makes it all worth it. taken in Newport News Park by @skywatcher_757

The best of things are temporary (like my summer off) and the worst of things seem eternal.

I return to school tomorrow for my fourth year in education. I’m not going to sugar coat this but I only look forward to coaching and seeing my colleagues. Let the grind begin!

I come from costal Virginia. I miss swimming in the salt water of the Atlantic ocean, Chesapeake Bay, the James and the Warwick river. The northern folk have the Rappahannock. Which means, "fast rising waters." I get a history lesson every time I return. The Punch Bowls have been amazing. Very close to the spot near Chatham Manor where enslaved people crossed the river to freedom. taken in The Punch Bowl by @skywatcher_757

These guys really cracked me up. What a great group. We were all posing to take this selfie at the @fxbgnats @starwars night and none of them could see!
