Then Jesus Said to his disciples, “whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me - Matthew 16:24

A time came where giving up felt more comforting than going on. Then God sat me down and told me “Lean not on your own understanding Kyrstin, surrender your need to be in control. I need you to fully trust in me.” I looked at every obstacle as redirection but God was simply telling me “not yet.” I am a selfless woman who knows no boundaries when it comes to ensuring the wellbeing of others, but God wanted me to learn how to care for myself before I can care for others.

I had a plan, a timeline, a vision. I thought I had it all figured out by myself, but God had other plans and they didn’t look anything like what I expected. I had to release my grip on control and trust Him to lead me where I’m truly needed.

Now, I am obtaining my second bachelors as an Accelerated Nursing Student. Not because I settled or gave up, but because this is my God given path to becoming a provider.

Every moment of uncertainty, every change in direction, was God shaping me into the provider my future patients will need. What felt like a detour was actually divine alignment. I’m learning that obedience requires trust—even when the path doesn’t make sense.

What’s meant for me is still mine, but it’s unfolding in a way greater than I could have planned. This journey isn’t what I pictured—but I trust that it’s exactly where I’m supposed to be.
