Vision Innovation Partners is working towards becoming the best eye care provider platform in the world.

*Bold statement. We’re not there yet—but that’s the goal. And I’m all in.

Willing to work harder, stretch further, and support those around me so that together, we become the best version of ourselves.

**Behind the scenes, making it happen:
Stephanie Blank (Director of Marketing), Christin Miller (Marketing Associate), and Elisa Chadwick (EVP, Provider Relations).

These three showed up hours before everyone else, stayed late, and thought through every detail to make this year’s provider meeting the best yet—and it was. Their passion, planning, and weekly grind turned this event into something that truly mattered.
It was a huge success, built on their shoulders.

You had me at hello…

PanOptix was enough

I’ve been using a version of this lens for over 20 years — trusting it enough to implant in my Uncle Harvey, my grandmother, and even both of my in-laws! PanOptix's arrival made my job easy and my patients over the moon. It was enough.

When good is great — but innovation makes it legendary.

But Alcon didn’t stop there…They knew innovation doesn’t rest. Enter PanOptix Pro — taking a best-in-class trifocal IOL and making it even better by increasing light transmission to the retina from 88% to an incredible 94%! A 50% increase in light throughput… not something we expected, but exactly what we needed.

PanOptix set the standard. PanOptix Pro just raised it.

The result?

Easier post-op counseling. Happier patients and another leap forward in vision care.

Cataract Surgery can look easy but learning is hard. This series of surgical videos is analyzing steps of Cataract Surgery to help train the next generation surgeons by @slaborwit

Cataract surgery can look easy — but mastering it takes serious work.
I’ve started a new video series where I break down each surgical step with detailed microanalysis to help train the next generation of surgeons (and sharpen our own skills!).
I'll keep adding content — you can find archived videos on my YouTube channel:

$Shaping the Future of Cataract Surgery with FLACS and Surgical Education This week, we celebrated the 6th Annual Live Surgery FLACS Course at my office, welcoming residents from five ophthalmology programs across the Baltimore/Washington area. Events like this remind me how far our field has come — and how exciting the future looks. The femtosecond laser has transformed my approach to cataract surgery. In my experience, it has enabled: • Lower phacoemulsification energy settings, improving surgical efficiency, faster recovery, and enhanced refractive outcomes • Eliminated the need for pupil expanders in my cases for over seven years • Innovative lens removal strategies, leveraging advanced imaging and gas bubble dynamics to maximize and optimize safety and precision I am proud to see how FLACS continues to push the boundaries of what's possible in cataract surgery. #FLACS #CataractSurgery #Innovation #MedicalEducation #Surgical Training #WimerEyeClinic #Maryland #KriegerEyeSinai #HowardU#Georgetown by @slaborwit$

Literally a top 5 bucket list item was to see the Aurora Borealis! I can’t believe I just was able to run out my front door and did not need to fly to another country and sit there for a week hoping to catch them. by @slaborwit
