𝕿𝖍𝖊 𝖒𝖞𝖈𝖊𝖑𝖎𝖆 𝖜𝖎𝖑𝖑 𝖇𝖊 𝖜𝖆𝖎𝖙𝖎𝖓𝖌 𝖋𝖔𝖗 𝖞𝖔𝖚. ⋆˙𓍊₊ ⊹˚ 𖥧𓋌˖°𓆑˙⋆ Happy Friday the 13th, witches!! I was determined to participate in #Funguary this year, in my own whimsical and visceral fashion. This piece, entitled “Reclaimed {by Nature}”, is inspired by my personal interpretation of death, as well as tragic female figures from Greek/Roman mythology. {And ofc, The Last of Us. 🫵👹} Death is something that I know better than to fear. While I don’t believe in any specific afterlife, the idea of being reclaimed by nature has always felt so soothing to me. It gives death a purpose, in feeding & nurturing new life, and it allows for a connection to nature that we can’t quite grasp while alive. Maybe we’ll become all-knowing entities within the fungal network, or perhaps it’ll simply be a nice dirt nap free of all human worry/pain—either way, sounds like a good time to me! 😈 Mythology is another inspiration for me. There are countless stories of women being turned into plants & animals permanently, to escape an unwanted suitor or to avoid the wrath of a vengeful goddess after her husband’s infidelity. I used to think it was a pretty cruel fate; why punish the victim when the problem has always been men and the Gods themselves? It echoes reality far too well, but most of these stories were made by men anyway. For this piece, I wanted to play with the idea of transformation being release, instead of punishment. Perhaps only in being turned into plants/animals could these victims escape their circumstances. Maybe they were ultimately glad when they felt their skin turn to bark and their hair to leaves; after all, no man would be able to hurt them ever again, without flesh to torture and control. If given the choice, I think I’d choose that same final act of rebellion. by @slakovak962

the second part of my #Funguary duology is finally here and she’s sooo weird!! 🫪 “Memento Mori” is now available for purchase~ 💀🖀🪜 This piece was inspired by biblically accurate angels, gooey skeletons, destroying angel mushrooms, and a random fungi-infested skull prop that I saw at Spirit Halloween last fall!! One thing you’ll quickly learn about me is that I’m extremely sacrilegious; I identify as a witch, and I personally believe that deities/organized religions are merely concepts, utilizing fables with clear morals that we as humans aspire to emulate {and ofc subsequently twist to our own demented whims, but that’s another issue entirely}. I may have been raised in a religious cult, but the only God/Goddess I recognize now is nature, and subsequently, death. Death is the ruler of all things, in the end; it is our unavoidable fate, and I don’t see reason to fear this natural process. That is why I chose to depict an angelic figure and kiss of death for Funguary’s “immortal” prompt. Maybe being reduced to a slimy skeleton doesn’t sound like a good time to you, but personally, my bones can’t wait to become food for the fungi and worms. This particular figure, who I’ve named Cressida, appears to serenely swim toward uncharted waters. She is fearless in her tranquility, and my hope is that someday she’ll find a home with a fellow sea simp where her beauty can be fully appreciated every day!! {𝓓𝓜 𝓯𝓞𝓻 𝓭𝓮𝓜𝓪𝓲𝓵𝓌/𝓹𝓟𝓻𝓬𝓱𝓪𝓌𝓮} 🩵 Personal lore time!! “Cressida” is a pyrography piece that I’ve been working on for well over a year now. Though I have no doubt that I could have finished it sooner, the journey toward completion has been very special for me—I couldn’t possibly rush it. My little mermaid has seen me through a period of great transition in my personal life, as well as notable growth in my artistic skills and vision. In 2025, I finally found the strength to leave a toxic long-term relationship and put myself first. Healing from the past hasn’t been easy, but I’m pleased to say that I’ve learned my worth, and the future looks bright; I have hope, I have love, and every day I’m getting closer to becoming the person I was always meant to be. I will never again treat myself as anything but the main character in my own life. yeah. I’m always 𝒻𝒶𝓈𝒜𝒟𝑜𝓃𝒶𝒷𝓁𝓎 late, but that’s okay; we stay hot and queer all year and so according to lesbian law, this still counts. 🫵👹🖀 Odessa and Ireun {belonging to the gorgeous @dilfvic} are OCs that are very close to my heart. Though all of our characters are queer, these two were the first ever lesbians we shipped together. In a way, they prefaced our own budding relationship, though thankfully we haven’t had to deal with the insane stakes and violence of Ireudessa’s plot. Odessa is a dangerous femme fatale type; don’t be fooled by her girly, hyper femme aesthetic. She has faced horrible trauma at the hands of men, and as a result, hates and seeks violent revenge against them—and she’s quite adept at it, aided by her extreme pain tolerance. Ireun is the detective that first rescues Odessa, and subsequently falls for. Though dutiful at first, as a nonbinary lesbian, they too have faced unjust discrimination in their field, and they have become disillusioned with the incompetency of law enforcement and the judicial system as a whole. After all, why play for the same pigs that continuously harm women and minorities, when you can date the butcher instead? For all their feral tendencies, Odessa and Ireun are deeply in love and fiercely devoted to each other. Murder and bloodstained intimacy may not be for everybody, but really, who are we to kink shame? A witchy holiday is the perfect time to introduce you all to my current D&D character, Ellorie Silverstream—a half-elf {technically 3/4 elf} warlock with something to prove, as well as a raging case of RBF. 😈🖀 Are you pondering the horrific skull floating beside her? Well, don’t. Sometimes, it really is better not to ask. For now, what I can tell you is this: Ellorie is a very conflicted character, struggling to balance the need for power and control over her life with her desire to be a good person. What she is quickly discovering is that she might not be able to have her cake and eat it, too; the cost of the magic she seeks may be far greater than she ever anticipated, but that’s what happens when you bind yourself to an entity with an endless appetite for pain and misery. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ All that being said

Eirlys and Vaihere both have very complex designs; Eirlys is a dragon/snowy owl/mermaid hybrid meant for traversing both sky and sea, and Vaihere is an abyssal ocean guardian based on the formidable and *only slightly* terrifying black dragonfish. Depicting them in their monstrous glory nearly killed me, but it was a worthwhile endeavor. While I spent many a night agonizing and tweaking out over every intricate detail, I absolutely love the end result!! All of the OCs and ships I share with my darling Vic have a special place in my heart, and Vairlys is no different; I adore their {very brief} enemies to lovers dynamic, as well as how fiercely devoted and protective they are toward each other. Sharp fangs, unhinged jaws, and fluffy talons definitely hide romantic hearts—Eirlys is the soft and playful mate that Vaihere has always dreamed of fusing with, and Vaihere is the one who saw Eirlys as beautiful from the very start, and encouraged her growth and potential into the Thalassan she was always meant to be. While their love was initially forbidden, not even the relentless tides or sun itself could have stopped them from falling hard for each other. After Sakai was tasked with infiltrating the Blackthorne Manor and quietly disposing of the notorious family patriarch, you can imagine his surprise when he found that his target was not a cruel old man at all, but his past lover and best friend instead—who had already finished the job herself, and started rebuilding the Blackthorne family from the ground up. Although he ofc doesn’t kill Shiloh, one could say he does {consensually} “finish her off” in another way, because despite finding themselves as nemeses on opposite sides of the HERO Agency’s war, Shiloh and Sakai have always been inseparable. If given the chance to secretly indulge in a night of pleasure, away from the watchful eyes of their mentors and peers, how could they resist? As far as Shiloh is concerned, it’s what they’re owed—the agency has taken far too much from the both of them. She aches for the day that Sakai will be able to free himself from the choking tethers of agency as she did, and despite his stubborn loyalty and overly idealistic views of their circumstances, Shiloh has every faith that he’ll eventually find his way back to her. “I guess it was only a matter of time until I became the villain everybody always expected me to be. What can I say? I’m my father’s daughter, through and through—I think I grew to fill his black gloves rather nicely.” ðŸ–€àŸ€àœ²àŸ€àœ² ••• I’m so happy to formally introduce you to Shiloh Blackthorne, one of the more recent OCs that I’ve created with my darling @dilfvic. Shiloh has a lot of lore that I’m eager to divulge in my upcoming posts; her story is definitely an angsty one, with big emphasis on the cost of doing the right thing—even if you lose everything you love in the process, and are subsequently labeled a heartless villain for it. Shiloh has had a rough go of it, tbh. She lives in a world not too far-off from our own, except that “prodigies” gifted with superhuman powers exist and are both feared and coveted by various organizations for their abilities. Shiloh’s father, a retired supervillain once known as the Black Hand, tried to change his ways and give his daughter a peaceful life away from the madness of the HERO Program and its enemies
but his past couldn’t stay buried forever. Shiloh was absorbed into the very life Nicodemus wanted to spare her from, and because her healing powers and tissue manipulation mimicked the Black Hand’s own abilities, the agency has treated Shiloh like a ticking time bomb from the moment she arrived. However, she has always been stubborn and determined. Shiloh became a hero despite the program’s attempts to limit her, making close friends and falling hard for a certain psychic. Perhaps she could have truly made something of herself, if she hadn’t learned of the atrocities that the HERO agency had committed and tried to bury. As the Black Heart, Shiloh is the agency’s very own self-fulfilling prophecy—but she made that choice on her own terms. Maybe she is evil to everybody else, but if the definition of evil is doing the right thing, then she doesn’t want to be good. 😈 This illustration is filled with symbolism for both Shiloh and Sakai, her love interest. They have an unfortunate friends-to-lovers-to-enemies-while-still-being-lovers dynamic; even when finding themselves on opposites sides, they can’t resist each other. 💋 by @slakovak962

I am happy to announce that this is the year I will be turning evil; you can expect to see lots of artwork and stories of a darker, bloodier variety coming from the crypt that is my mind. This werewolf OC, yet unnamed, is a representation of my own flaws and anxieties. She is selfish, childish, jealous, and possessive, and in drawing her I have no choice but to embrace my own nature and shortcomings in their entirety. We are all a little monstrous, after all; some are just better at ignoring or swallowing their “undesirable side” and bloodstains than others. I find that I am tired of apologizing for what I am, as I continue to outgrow my skin and metamorphose into something better. àŸâ€ïžŽ 𝔖𝔥𝔞𝔡𝔬𝔎: “To live is to commit grave harm, over and over again. To hurt and be hurt, in the name of love. Shame stains me—dried blood and viscera that I notice only in the morning light, after the hunt has ended. Tomorrow, who knows? {I’ve had this piece finished for a while, we’re getting back on that art grind!} Shira Shinosuke is a newer OC that I’ve never drawn until now, yet she’s quickly becoming one of my favorites—the gal is absolutely relentless and unapologetically fiery in the face of tyranny and misogyny. Shira knows the rules, sure, yet she fearlessly breaks them anyway. Her homeland is Japan-inspired, with twelve regions and noble clans that are based on the animals of the Chinese zodiac. Each region has its own sub-culture, with unique features and exports; Shira is from the Rabbit District, which historically is the poorest and least respected of the twelve. The majority of Rabbit people are known to lack the gifts that established the clan hierarchy in the first place, though Shira is an exception. Having the mixed blood of a Rabbit mother and a Tiger father, she has inherited both of their abilities; atomic manipulation, as well as intangibility/density alteration. This hybridization of two or more powers is rare, and after sudden political upheaval shakes the country to its core, Shira will have to rely on her gifts to survive. The violent Tiger Clan has established a cruel military regime, and after a violent attack leaves her stepfather crippled and her mother missing, Shira will stop at nothing to save her mom and make things right. She is a witch, a daughter of the Devil and an acolyte of Lady Lilith, and her many powers are meant to shake the foundations of faith itself. Nancie is darkness wearing an exquisite mask; with her silver tongue, she can control people as puppets, compelling them to do her bidding. Yet even so, she is tempered and rather reclusive. Though she has killed, every murder was justified, in protecting herself and others from the hate and hunger of mortal men. Nancie has no true will of her own, lacking a human soul, until she is saved from certain condemnation and destruction by her god, Adriel {belonging to @dilfvic}. In serving him with utmost devotion as his most loyal attendant, Nancie learns to feel love and desire. Whether or not her feelings for Adriel are enough to save her from the eternal flames remains unknown, even to a witch who can foretell her own fate. She will remain dutiful and loyal until her death, and even after, because true love transcends the boundaries of death’s veil. ⚾ 𝕯𝖎𝖘𝖈𝖑𝖆𝖎𝖒𝖊𝖗: As Nancie’s creator, I am not religious in the traditional sense. Her story and imagery may heavily utilize Christian/Catholic/demonic visuals; however, I myself identify as a witch. While I hope that these themes do not upset or offend anyone, they are what they are. I was raised Roman Catholic, and Nancie allows me to safely explore my experiences and criticisms of the church and their treatment of women, queer people, and children.
