⚾️ Parents and pitchers — I’m offering private pitching lessons at Slammers Training Academy!

My time at Valparaiso and with the Chicago Dogs has taught me a lot about the preparation, consistency, and confidence it takes to compete. I’m excited to share that experience with the next generation of pitchers.

Each lesson will focus on understanding your delivery, building repeatable mechanics, and throwing with better command and purpose. Whether you’re learning the fundamentals or preparing for your next season, we’ll work toward your goals together.

⚾️ Chicago-area pitchers and parents—let’s make every session count.

I’m bringing my experience with the Miami Marlins, Chicago Dogs, and Bravos de León into private pitching lessons at Slammers Training Academy.

My goal is to help youth and high school pitchers understand their delivery, throw with more consistent command, and build confidence on the mound—with instruction focused on each athlete’s needs.

Whether your pitcher is learning the fundamentals or preparing for high school competition, let’s build a plan for their development.

Up to 86 this fall, and the testing shows why. 📈

Elliot Knapper (@elliotknapper42) (RHP, Uncommitted, 2028) finished his fall with 14 innings, 18 strikeouts and just 4 runs allowed.

The work behind it showed up on assessment day back in August compared to where he was back in February.

• Single-leg lateral jump (L): 80” to 86”
• Single-leg lateral jump (R): 82” to 88”
• Broad jump: 101” to 108”
• 10-yard sprint: 1.80s to 1.64s

More power, more speed, more velo. As a 2028, he has plenty of time to keep climbing and looks to take another jump this off-szn.

2027 class keeps adding!

Congrats to Catcher, Michael Thompson (@michaelthompson22_ ) on his commitment to Messiah University (@messiahubaseball ). Michael has been a nonstop worker, doing whatever it takes to get to the next level since his youth days. It’s been a pleasure to watch Mike grow on and off the field. Can’t wait to see the next chapter of his career!

Congrats to Michael and the rest of the Thompson family!

One of our favorite events of the year is officially taking shape. The @ihsbca1 State Convention lineup has rounded out, and it’s a good one — Mike Bianco (Ole Miss), Dom Milano (@dmilano2) (Harper College), Dillon Napoleon (Illinois), and former big leaguers Jason Kipnis and Albert Almora Jr. to name a few.

Dom Savino (@dom_a_savino) has done a tremendous job coordinating the event. A couple familiar faces on the speaker lineup, too. Our head man Ed Tolzien also apart of the board of directors for the IHSBCA.

December 4–5, 2026 • Embassy Suites, Naperville, IL

Great speakers. Great baseball minds. One terrific event.
