We know we'll be ghosts again.

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

It's been a busy few years - moving @martinsvillesoapworks twice, closing my brick and mortar, our youngest offspring moving into their own apartment, and at home The Husband took 3 summers installing 12kW of solar panels at our house (which included a new roof on our barn!) So it's time for a break!

We've loaded up Jolteeon, our '24 Chevy Equinox EV (points if you understand the connection) and are currently on our way to New Jersey. Planning on stopping in ~3 hours to charge up.

Let's gooooo! 😃

This year, I'm dressing up as a hospital patient! Or a trapped feral cat (I hope they don't eartip me!) Or something like that..

Your favorite ADHD princess just spent 5 minutes looking for her box cutter that she just had in her hand...
😕
At least now, knowing why I "lose" stuff like this all the time, I don't feel as stupid as I used to. I can look back on my life and see all the symptoms and realize no, I wasn't lazy, or inept, or any of the other things I was called by teachers (never my family, though!!).
.
This isn't meant to be a pity post; just an insight into my daily life. I am usually really good about not "losing" things by putting them in specific places. Box cutters generally don't have a "home" though, which is why they are the thing I misplace the most. I have a lot on my mind right now, that I'm not ready to publicly share, so for now maybe I'll stick another box cutter in my pocket so I spend less time looking for them.

Just a happy swarm of honeybees looking for a new home. I can relate.
.
We have spent the last two weeks closing down @delightfuloctopus , moving the merchandise into @martinsvillesoapworks , and finding new locations for everything. It's been a living Tetris game - shift this over here, move that, combine those, and throw that out. So even though my stuff is all technically there, a lot of it has moved and for someone like me with short-term memory issues, it's very stressful!
.
Shutting down the other store is a necessary First Step to a Very Big Plan that I've been working on for months (for the few who know, shhhhhh) and it's made me feel like one of those homeless honeybees - it may look like chaos but there's an order to it, and a promise of something wonderful.
.
Good luck finding your new home, little bees! 🐝

Obligatory snow photo, taken by @ckphotosys because I am a bougie princess who refuses to leave the house. (Well, we did go next door to my mom's yesterday for Christmas Eve but my phone stayed nice and warm in my pocket. Merry Everything, peeps! 🎄❄️ taken in Martinsville, New York by @slapdash.bang

You're a jerk sometimes, Xena, but I'm still glad you're in our lives.

A lifetime of memories on our tree. An ornament for each kid, signifying something that was important in their lives that year. It's nothing fancy or coordinated, hardly worthy of note, but its good to have it back. by @slapdash.bang
