Since my test reel went well, I'd like to make this part of the show.

For the third season of the "You Gotta Check This Out" podcast we're covering Steely Dan. We just wrapped up a season on Babylon 5 and are about to start a short one on the Image comic "The Power Fantasy". During the SD season starting in September, I'll post part of a Dan song every day until I get through the main LPs.

The thing about producing a Steely Dan podcast is you have to have a strong music component. Plus there's already a ton of content on the bands history. We'll be focusing on a song per era for five weeks.

I'm doing home at last from Aja with a drummer. Which means I have to cover every part that's not the drummer in some part of the arrangement or chuck it. Not that the drummer will have an easier time. We're talking the Purdy Shuffle here - one of the most notoriously tight grooves of all time. by @slatron11

Amazing pulls from today's marvel pack war with Andy. Mythic Thanos and She-Hulk. Rare vision and dual green white land. Shulkie is foil print and two full art character prints. We're opening a box and making a Marvel MTG cube out of Spider-Man and Marvel sets. Come on over and draft some Marvel MTG at the Slater's. by @slatron11

Well, we did it. This week we conclude our year of Babylon 5 with the man who sparked my interest in Bab 5, Karl Wolf. It was a great year of podcasting. Dre and I are warmed up now and ready to dive into other topics.

Speaking of which, if you want to prep for the next series, read "The Power Fantasy" by Kieron Gillen from Image Comics. It's a great read and my favorite recent image title.
