A gentle reminder as you move into 2023. It is okay to take time for yourself and to move away from spaces and things that are not mentally right for you anymore. You can say no to things that don’t serve you. Don’t be afraid. It’s been a little over a year since I left a job that was professionally rewarding but very bad for my mental health. I made the choice daily to choose my career over myself for years. Tough decisions were made and I left a high position at the end of 2021. Don’t get me wrong… that job made me, shaped me and changed me but I had to realize it also impacted me negatively. 2022 Became a year of self discovery. Where I was once scared to unlock things about myself that maybe I didn’t want to know (or knew would push me outside of a comfort zone) soon became more reason to cherish my new freedom. I met people that would forever change my life and inspire me to be better. Through it all, my husband has always been a guiding North Star - he’s helped me navigate treacherous spaces and pushed me to rest when I wouldn’t do it for myself. He is my rock and my anchor. And he is also the one who helps me fly the highest. We don’t really know who we are until we begin to search. So don’t be afraid to let go of those people, spaces and jobs that don’t serve you. And then dream higher, faster, stronger and better than ever before. Chase what is owed to you! 2023 we are coming for you… I hope you’re ready. by @slayy_her
✨01/02/14 - 11/20/21✨ Everything has come full circle; last service in this building. This was my first and only job when I moved to Chicago, 8 years ago. It completely changed the way I thought about being a hospitality professional. Shoutout to the best bar team I’ve had the privilege of managing and working alongside; you all have a special place in my heart and I’ve learned so much from each of you. My favorite photos are the last two; 2020 versus 2014. A lot has changed, but at the same time I hope I was constant. Let’s do this one more nice time. Too many to tag but know there is 🖤🖤🖤 I will catch you all on the flip side! by @slayy_her

Danny’s (@dannysnyc) is an American wine bistro in the Flatiron District founded by Dan Abrams (@dan_abrams), ABC News Chief Legal Analyst, author, and restaurateur. 👨‍🍳 Created as a nod to the historic Ladies Mile neighborhood, the restaurant brings a timeless approach to dining with a focus on elevated American classics and warm, professional hospitality. 🍽️ The kitchen is led by Chef Ed Tinoco (@ed.tinoco), with General Manager Alexis Belton-Tinoco (@slayy_her) overseeing the front of house, creating a seamless experience that has quickly made Danny’s one of the hardest reservations to secure in New York City. 🍔 The menu highlights standout dishes like the Danny’s Burger, Fried Chicken and Biscuits, Ham and Cheese “Hot Pockets”, Saffron brined Deviled Eggs, and a Chocolate Chip Cookie Skillet, all paired with a strong wine program. 🍷 A modern bistro rooted in classic New York dining, right in the heart of Flatiron. ✨ Danny’s (@dannysnyc) 📍46 W 22nd St, Flatiron Subscribe to our free weekly newsletter for more hidden gems and exclusive discounts. That’s a wrap on @tales_of_the_cocktail 2024! ♥️ my people and filled with gratitude to be included in the CAP mentorship program. The older I get and the more years spent in this industry has shown me that we make this space better by fostering growth, education and connection with the younger generation of hospitality professionals. Chuffed to be able to be a part of that. Until we meet again! 🥂 by @slayy_her
